Procedure

Apply In-Person

1. To Apply for Annual Dentist Public and Private Practice License in Ghana, the applicant must go to the Ghana Medical and Dental Council or Ministry of Health (MOH).

3. Application form is available in the MDC office.
4. Visit the office and obtain the application forms to be completed for Annual Dentist Public and Private Practice License, from the relevant department.
5. Complete the forms with appropriate information under the relevant sections. Attest the forms with the applicant’s signature once completed.
6. The interested applicants, who wish to be registered and certified, must submit an application form for accreditation, as well as all the relevant documentation to the MOH office.
7. Once completed filling the application form, make sure that the applicant attached all the documents listed in the “Required Documents” section of this page.
8. Payment of appropriate fees should be made and that can be found under the "Fees" section of this page.
9. Then, submit it in person to the relevant authority at the office. Make the stipulated payment as directed by the officials.
10. The MOH office will forward the applications to the CPD Accreditation and certification Committee for procession.
11. The Accreditation and Certification Committee will review and use the set criteria for assessment of applications.
12. The results of the applicants to provide CPD will be sent to the Ghana MOH office for final approval.
13. Collect his/her Dentist Public and Private Practice License certificate from where the applicant application was submitted within 14 days from the date the application was received at Ghana MOH office in case there is no rejection.
14. The processing time for this procedure takes 2 weeks.

• A copy of full registration or previous annual practicing license.
• Duly filled annual practicing license application form
• Verified Continuing Medical Education certificate of the previous year
• The name, address and qualification of the practitioner
• The employment number of the Applicant (if applicable)
• Bank draft for necessary fees
• Photocopy of passport page that shows entry date

Eligibility

• Any Dental practitioner who is trained in and outside the country must be registered with the MDC if she/he is to excise Dental practice in Ghana.

Fees

License Fee:

• Specialists - 200,000 GHS
• Generalists -100,000 GHS

Renewal Fee:

• Specialists - 200,000 GHS
• Generalists -100,000 GHS

Validity

• Validity for this license is 1 year.
