Procedure

Apply In-Person:

1. To Apply for Agricultural Air Operator Certificate, the applicant has to contact the nearest Civil Aviation Authority Office in Ghana.

3. Applicant must obtain the application form from GCAA department.
4. Applicant must fill all information in the application form.
5. The applicant has to make sure he or she has all the required documents that are required for this process to be successful and they can be found under the "Required Documents" section or this page.
6. When all the conditions have been met, and have been satisfactorily certified by the Authority’s Licensing Office, the applicant will be advised to pay the prescribed fees found under the "Fees" section of this page.
7. The completed application form must submit to the GCAA department.
8. The Authority may issue an agricultural air operator certificate (AAOC) if an applicant meets the requirements as indicated on the application form.
9. A holder of an agricultural air operator certificate shall ensure that each person used in the holder’s agricultural aircraft operation is informed of his or her duties and responsibilities for the operation.
10. The processing time for this procedure takes 30 days.

Eligibility

• Applicant must be a Ghana citizen and a Ghanaian resident.

Fees

• A processing fee of 50,000 shall be made payable to GCAA in respect of the Application this fee is non-refundable.

Validity

• This License is valid for a period of twenty four months from the date of issue or renewal.

Need for the Document

• A holder of an AAOC shall display the certificate at the home base of operations, to the public at all times and shall present it for inspection on the request of the Authority or any person authorised by the Authority.
• A holder of a commercial pilot’s Licence engaged by an agricultural air operator certificate need not hold a valid instrument rating whilst conducting aerial work operations related to agriculture, horticulture or forest preservation.
