Procedure

Temporary residence permit is issued to a foreign citizen, wishing to say in Georgia for more than 90 days and up to 6 years.

HOW TO APPLY

IN PERSON

1. Book an appointment through E-Application Systemor Visit the embassy/ consulate office of Georgia in your country with all the required documents and required fees
2. Request for an application form for your petition and fill it correctly
3. Pay the required fees and submit the fill application with the required documents to the attending officer who will verify and process them.
4. And if all the information are in order you will receive your temporary residence permit within 10 working days.

E-VISA PORTAL

1. Visit the ministry of foreign affairs of Georgia website VisaApp
2. Read through the instruction carefully and fill the application form correctly
3. A message will be sent to your e-mail address indicated if the visa application is subsequently. Confirm the e-mail address, to ensure payment of the state duty.
4. The e-mail address shall be confirmed within 1 (one) hour after it is sent, otherwise the visa application will be cancelled.
5. The state duty shall be paid within 5 (five) hours after the message received on the e-mail address is confirmed.
6. upload the relevant documents electronically and pay state duty with the electronic mode of payment and submit
7. Documents necessary for consideration of the application for temporary residence permit in Georgia shall also be submitted materially within 10 days following registration of an electronic application and attached documents.
8. Documents issued abroad shall be translated into Georgian and notarized. Documents issued abroad (if applicable) shall also be legalized or certified by apostille.
9. You will receive your temporary residence permit with 5 working days

Required Documents

If you are a foreigner, who is employed in Georgia (including freelance professionals)

• A copy of your passport or travel document.
• A document verifying your legal stay in Georgia if by the time of application you are in Georgia, than Georgian visa, a stamp in your passport verifying crossing of Georgian border, etc.
• A document verifying your employment in Georgia (employment contract or any other document verifying your employment); in case of freelance professionals a bank statement, which reflects flow of money on the account for the period of one year.
• Document verifying legal income.

If you are a foreigner, who is in Georgia for the purposes of health treatment or study

• A copy of your passport or travel document.
• A document verifying your legal stay in Georgia if by the time of application you are in Georgia, than Georgian visa, a stamp in your passport verifying crossing of Georgian border, etc.
• A document issued by the medical institution verifying the fact that you need a treatment in Georgia or a document issued by educational institution verifying your enrolment in the institution (including indication of approximate period for treatment or study)
• Document verifying legal income.

If you are a foreigner, who is invited by the state agencies as a highly qualified specialist or is an artist and his/her invitation is within the state interest

• A copy of your passport or travel document.
• A document verifying your legal stay in Georgia if by the time of application you are in Georgia, than Georgian visa, a stamp in your passport verifying crossing of Georgian border,etc.
• Invitation of an appropriate state agency.
• Document verifying legal income.
• 2 photos, size 34

If you are a foreigner owning real estate in Georgia in the value of at least GEL 100 000 with the right of property or having the sum of money in the same amount deposited in the banking institution of Georgia

• Copy of passport or travel document.
• Copy of the document proving the fact of legal stay in Georgia, if the person is in Georgia at the time of submitting the application (Georgian visa, the document proving the fact of crossing the state boundary of Georgia etc).
• The document proving the fact of owning real estate in Georgia in the value of at least GEL 100 000 with the right of property or a certificate proving availability of the sum of money amounting to at least GEL 100 000 deposited in the banking institution of Georgia.
• Written mediation of the member of the Government of Georgia or written substantiated recommendation of 3 citizens of Georgia having the representative authority of an entrepreneurial entity engaged in activity in Georgia.
• Receipt proving payment of the service fee.
• 2 3X4 photos.

If you are a foreigner having made investment in Georgia in the value of at least GEL 100000, according to the Law of Georgia On investment activity and guarantees

• Copy of passport or travel document.
• Copy of the document proving the fact of legal stay in Georgia, is the person is in Georgia at the time of submitting the application (Georgian visa, the document proving the fact of crossing the state boundary of Georgia etc).
• The document proving the fact of owning real estate in Georgia in the value of at least GEL 100 000 with the right of property or a certificate proving availability of the sum of money amounting to at least GEL 100 000 deposited in the banking institution of Georgia.
• Written mediation of the member of the Government of Georgia or written substantiated recommendation of 3 citizens of Georgia having the representative authority of an entrepreneurial entity engaged in activity in Georgia.

Eligibility

Only foreigners of 18 years and above are eligible.

• One is employed in Georgia in accordance with labor legislation of the country, including freelance professionals.
• One is staying in Georgia for the purposes of health treatment or study.
• One is invited by the state agencies as a highly qualified specialist or is an artist and his/her invitation is within the state interest.
• One is guardian or custodian of a Georgian citizen.
• One is under the guardianship or custody of a Georgian citizen.
• One is a spouse, parent, child, adoptee, adoptive parent, sister, brother, grandmother or grandfather of a Georgian citizen or a foreigner, who has residence permit.
• When one is with no reasonable doughty to believe that he/she is a victim of human trafficking.
• One is a participant of a hearing of commission on restitution and compensation.
• Whose Georgian citizenship is terminated

Validity

• A first temporary Georgian residence permit shall be issued for at least six months and for not more than one year. It may be extended for up to five years, provided the total period of the temporary Georgian residence permit does not exceed six years
• In special cases, a first temporary Georgian residence permit may be issued for five years

Instructions

Holders of valid visa or residence permit of UAE are exempted from visa requirements. You can enter Georgia without a visa for 90 days in any 180-day period. Please, note that you must present relevant valid visa or residence permit along with your travel document/passport at the moment of crossing Georgian border.
