Procedure

To register an online application for temporary residence permit in Georgia, you need to fill in an electronic application form, upload the relevant documents electronically, contact Remote Service Operator and express your will online to get residence permit.

HOW TO APPLY

VIA ONLINE

1. Visit the E- VISA PORTAL ( ministry of foreign affairs of Georgia)VisaApp or Book an appointment through E-Application system [1]
2. Read through the instruction carefully and fill the application form correctly
3. A message will be sent to your e-mail address indicated if the visa application is subsequently. Confirm the e-mail address, to ensure payment of the state duty.
4. The e-mail address shall be confirmed within 1 (one) hour after it is sent, otherwise the visa application will be cancelled.
5. The state duty shall be paid within 5 (five) hours after the message received on the e-mail address is confirmed.
6. upload the relevant documents electronically and pay state duty with the electronic mode of payment and submit
7. Documents necessary for consideration of the application for temporary residence permit in Georgia shall also be submitted materially within 10 days following registration of an electronic application and attached documents.
8. Documents issued abroad shall be translated into Georgian and notarized. Documents issued abroad (if applicable) shall also be legalized or certified by apostille.
9. You will receive your temporary residence permit with 5 working days

Online application for a short-term residence permit should be electronically accompanied by the following documents

• Photocopy of an alien’s travel document
• Photocopy of a document evidencing alien’s lawful stay in GeorgDocument evidencing an alien’s right of ownership of real property within the territory of Georgia (other than agricultural land) with its market value exceeding USD 35000 equivalent in lariso.
• Document evidencing market value of the real property defined in subparagraph“d” of this paragraph(market value be established by a certified assessor of a body accredited by the Legal Entity under Public Law Unified National Accreditation Body-Accreditation Centre)
• 3x4 cm photo

Online application for a short-term residence permit filed by a family member of an alien who has already been granted a short-term residence permit should be electronically accompanied by the following documents

• Photocopy of an alien’s travel document;
• Photocopy of a document evidencing alien’s lawful stay in Georgia
• Photocopy of a residence permit of an alien who has been granted a short-term residence permit
• Document evidencing kinship with an alien who has been granted a short-term residence permit
• 3x4 cm photo

Online application for a residence permit for family reunion should be electronically accompanied by the following documents

• Photocopy of an alien’s travel document.
• Photocopy of a document evidencing alien’s lawful stay in Georgia
• Document evidencing kinship.
• Document evidencing legal income earned in Georgia by an alien and/or by a citizen of Georgia or by his/her relative having the right of residence in Georgia.The money in analien’s personal bank account may also be considered income; taking into account the duration of a residence permit for family reunion, the monthly amount of the money should not be less than double the amount of minimum subsistence level of an average customer in Georgia.
• 3x4 cm photo.

Online application for a residence permit for study purposes should be electronically accompanied by the following documents

• Photocopy of an alien’s travel document.
• Photocopy of a document evidencing alien’s lawful stay in Georgia
• Certificate issued by an educational institution authorized in Georgia confirming alien’s studies (indicating the anticipated duration of study).
• Document evidencing legal income earned in Georgia by an alien and/or by a citizen of Georgia or by his/her relative having the right of residence in Georgia and a document confirming kinship with that person.The money in an alien’s personal bank account may also be considered income taking into account the duration of a residence permit for study purposes,the monthly amount of the money should not be less than double the amount of minimum subsistence level of an average customer in Georgia.
• 3x4 cm photo.

The following documents shall be electronically attached to an online application for labor residence permit for entrepreneurial or labor activity in Georgia

• Copy of an alien’s travel document.
• Copy of a document evidencing lawful stay in Georgia
• Document evidencing labor and entrepreneurial activity(labor contract or other document evidencing employment);if legal income of an alien cannot be proven by the aforementioned documents,monthly amount deposited on the personal bank account of the alien at least twice as much as the average consumer subsistence minimum in Georgia, considering the duration of the labor residence permit, shall also be considered as income.
• 3/4 cm photo.

The following documents shall be electronically attached to an online electronic application for labor residence permit in Georgia to freelancers

• Copy of an alien’s travel document.
• Copy of a document evidencing lawful stay in Georgia
• Certificate evidencing professional activity(certificate from a trade union or education certificate (diploma, certificate etc.).
• Bank statement confirming availability of money on their personal account at least twice as much as the average consumer subsistence minimum in Georgia.
• Recommendation of a citizen of Georgia or an alien holding residence permit in Georgia for issue of labor residence permit to an alien to implement labor activities in Georgia serving public interests.
• 3/4 cm photo.

Eligibility

Only foreigners of 18 years and above are eligible.

• One is employed in Georgia in accordance with labor legislation of the country, including freelance professionals.
• One is staying in Georgia for the purposes of health treatment or study.
• One is invited by the state agencies as a highly qualified specialist or is an artist and his/her invitation is within the state interest.
• One is guardian or custodian of a Georgian citizen.
• One is under the guardianship or custody of a Georgian citizen.
• One is a spouse, parent, child, adoptee, adoptive parent, sister, brother, grandmother or grandfather of a Georgian citizen or a foreigner, who has residence permit.
• When one is with no reasonable doughty to believe that he/she is a victim of human trafficking.
• One is a participant of a hearing of commission on restitution and compensation.
• Whose Georgian citizenship is terminated

Validity

• A first temporary Georgian residence permit shall be issued for at least six months and for not more than one year. It may be extended for up to five years, provided the total period of the temporary Georgian residence permit does not exceed six years
• In special cases, a first temporary Georgian residence permit may be issued for five years

Instructions

Procedure for submitting applications electronically

1. An electronic application shall be accepted according to the principles and conditions laid down in these Procedures, in consideration of the special characteristics set forth in this article.
2. An electronically submitted application may be accepted if the electronic communication allows for direct visual contact between the applicant and the person authorised to accept the application.
3. Within 10 days after the registration of an electronic application and attached documents, the documents necessary for reviewing the Georgian residence permit shall also be submitted in printed form.
4. If the documents indicated in the third paragraph of this article are not submitted in a printed form, the Agency may decide not to review the application.
5. If there is a reasonable suspicion about the applicant’s identity, the Agency may refuse to accept an electronically submitted application.
6. The Agency shall keep the record of visual contact in electronic form in accordance with the legislation.

• Holders of valid visa or residence permit of UAE are exempted from visa requirements. You can enter Georgia without a visa for 90 days in any 180-day period.
