Gambia - Replace Lost / Stolen Passport
ProcedureEdit
- To obtain a replacement passport, applicant will need to submit an application to the Immigration Department.
- Complete an application and submit it together with the police report and court affidavit.
- Applicants will also need to submit one passport photograph and other supporting documents (see list below).
- Pay the application form.
If you are outside Gambia
- For applicants outside Gambia, you will need to obtain Police Report for lost/stolen Passport, issued by the authorised bodies of the foreign country.
- Go to the nearest Embassy of Gambia and complete an application to obtain a replacement passport. You may use the link provided under "Office Locations & Contacts" to get in touch with the nearest Embassy of Gambia in the country you are currently staying.
- Submit the completed application together with the certificate of loss and other required documents.
- Pay the application fee.
Required DocumentsEdit
- Police report and court affidavit in case of lost passport
- Completed application form
- One(1) passport photograph
- Guarantor's form duly signed by a commissioner of oaths plus:
- Photocopy of; (a) Data page of guarantor's passport and photocopy of National identity card or Drivers License
- Father's Letter of content for minors under 16yrs (Mother's letter of consent in case of deceased father)
- Marriage Certificate where applicable
- Husband's consent letter
- Court affidavit and police report in case of lost passport.
- Birth Certificate or Age declaration.
- Letter of identification from Local Government of origin or residence.
- Acknowledgement slip and receipt of payment.

- Application forms cost D10 from the Department of Immigration in Banjul.
ValidityEdit
A Standard passport has a life span of 10 years with an initial validity of five (5) years.
