Tax Identification Numbers (TINs) in Gabon are usually obtained during the process of incorporating entities in the country, therefore the applicant starts with steps of incorporation as follows:-

1.The applicant starts by contacting a notary to assist in the registration / incorporation processes;

2.Then reserve a name for the company. In this case, a name is suggested and the applicant together with the contacted lawyer makes a search to assess availability of a name and if the name is available, the applicant proceeds with the registration process;

3.Thereafter, the applicant proceeds with depositing a minimum capital required for incorporation of business into the bank. In this case the applicant must open up a bank account under the names of the business entity under incorporation (if a name has not yet been reserved, the account can be opened under the phrase Company under Incorporation and when the bank account is opened, an initial capital must be deposited on to the bank account and obtain a deposit slip;

4.Then the applicant goes ahead with drafting, signing and registering the articles of association of the company. The drafting is usually done by the notary, signing is done by the directors of company in front of the notary and thereafter the signed articles of association are deposited and registered with the public notary. When deposited with the public notary, he / she also issues a certificate of payment of the initial capital;

5.The managers / directors at this stage are required to obtain a police clearance certificates. In this case the criminal records of the directors are extracted and clearance certificate is issued by the police;

6.Then the applicant submits all required documents to the Investment Promotion Agency ("Agence de Promotion d'Investissement") for registration with various institutions which included registration with the Tax Authority. When documents are submitted to the Investment Promotion Agency, they are forward different agencies including the Direction Gnral des Impts du Gabon for registration;

7.When the documents are received by different agencies, they are assessed and if approved, the applicant is registered and registration certificates are issued. The tax authority issues the Tax Registration Certificate with a Tax Identification Number (TIN);

8.Then the applicant proceeds with completion of the following processes of incorporating companies
