Finland - Unlock an Electronic Identity Card

ProcedureEdit

  1. Go to a police department.
  2. Request for a PUK code to be sent to your address.
  3. Prove your identity.
  4. Pay the fee.
  5. Once you received the code, follow the instructions issued by the Population Register Centre to unlock your identity card from any computer with an Internet connection.

Any Finnish identity card holder.



FeesEdit

Request to open a locked identity card(also a Population Register Centre fee of 10 for ordering the letter containing the PIN code) - 10



ValidityEdit

An identity card is valid for 5 years.
