Procedure

1. Go to a police department to apply for an identity card for minor. A minor must be accompanied by his or her guardians. A minor can also bring a guardian's consent form if he or she cannot be accompanied by his or her guardian during the application.
2. Complete the application form. Attached the guardian's consent form if necessary.

3. Prove your identity and submit a passport photo.
4. Pay the application fee.

An identity card for minor is valid for five (5) years.

Instructions

• For identity card applications, the minor must always personally attend the police department.
• An identity card for minor cannot be used for travel documents or e-services.
• A guardian's consent can be proven by using a separate guardian consent form and attached it to the identity card application.

Need for the Document

An identity card is issued to a citizen or resident of a country which is required to be carried and displayed under certain circumstances. A minor can be issued an identity card if he or she has his or her parent's consent. An identity card for a minor is slightly less expensive than a standard identity card.

Information which might help

Before you can get your identity card, a PIN envelope will be posted to your home address containing the PIN and PUK codes for your card. Once it is ready, you can collect it at the police department. It can also be collected by your authorized representative or posted to your home address on request. You will pay the postage together with the fee for the identity card.
