Procedure

Apply In-Person:

1. To register for the Minibus permit (Not more than 8 passengers), the applicant must visit the Land Transport Authority (LTA) Fiji. Contact Link
2. The application form must be obtained from the authorities in the LTA office.
3. The applicant must create the client ID in the Fiji LTAs system.
4. After that the applicant will be interviewed, and the applicant should pass the interview.
5. Make sure that you have all the documents that are mentioned in the “Required Documents” section of this page.
6. The application form should be filled with necessary details and along with the required documents it should be submitted to the PSV CSO – PSV Customer Service Officer in LTA.
7. The PSV CSO will verify the application, and it will be sent for second verification to the PSV Team Leader. (If the application is not approved by the PSV CSO, the applicant will be informed about the flaws in the application)
8. After the successful second verification, the applicant needs to pay the application fee, which is $65.40.
9. After paying the fee, the applicant must give the Minibus Permit information as an advertisement in the daily newspaper.
10. After 14 days of advertisement, the paper-cutting of the advertisement must be submitted to the CSO.
11. After this the application will be processed by RM, GMO, CEO, and other officials in the LTA.
12. The final approval will be given by the CEO (If the approval is rejected, the applicant will be issued with the rejection letter).
13. After the approval, the applicant will be issued the permit approval letter, and the applicant must get it stamped from the FRCA.
14. After getting the stamp, the Minibus must be registered within 90 days.
15. If the time extends 90 days, then the applicant can request for extension to the RM in the LTA.
16. The extension period of 1 month will be granted to the applicant.
17. After receiving the Registration Certificate for Minibus permit, the applicant must get the Yellow Number plate for the Minibus.

19. The processing time for this procedure will be intimated by the authorities in the Fiji LTA office.

• Duly filled application form.
• Details of other business or association with the holder of any PSV permit, including sharing of stands and other facilities. (If applicable.)
• Address Proof. (FEA, Telephone or Water bill)
• Latest 3 months bank statement ($1050 with vehicle, $6050 without vehicle)
• Business plan and cash flow for 12 months certified and stamped by qualified Accountant.
• Full Current medical report.
• Population of the proposed area.
• For Limited Liability Company,
  • Company registration certificate.
  • Memorandum of article of association.
• Application form stamped with common seal and signed by 2 Directors.
• Vehicle Quotation (if vehicle is to be purchased upon approval of permit.)
• Trade in value of existing vehicle.
• Supplementary inspection if the person has a vehicle.
• Details of other PSV operating from the proposed area.
• Details of current permit held by applicant or family member.
• Clearance letter from their head of department. (If civil servant)
• Sketch map of the stand.
• Police Clearance – need only the receipt (applicant must be advised that if they have any convictions, their application may not be successful.)
• Letter from Immigration - Confirming Fiji Citizenship.
• FRCA TIN Letter.
• Birth Certificate.
• Confirmation from two councils or local Authority for base letters, originating stand and terminating stand.

Eligibility

• The applicant should be a Fiji Citizen or should have dual citizenship.
• The applicant should be above 21 years of age.
• All the convicted TINs must be cleared before applying. (If any)
• Also, the applicant should not have 2 or more permits.

Fees

• Permit fee - $28.91
• License to Carry not more than 8 passenger fee - $87.20

Validity

• The Minibus registration Permit validity will be mentioned in the registration certificate issued by the authorities in the Fiji LTA.
