Procedure

1.To obtain a motor insurance in Fiji, an applicant should start deciding on the insurance policy which will cover his / her needs;

2.Thereafter proceed by identifying an authorized insurance company which offers a policy that will cover all liabilities that the applicant wishes to insure the vehicle against.

3.After choosing an insurance company, to the offices of the identified insurance company and find out what is required in order to obtain a motor insurance policy required;

4.Prepare all required documents, obtain application form from the insurance company chosen and fill it correctly;

5.There after attach required documents on to the filled form and submit documents to the insurance company;

6.Make payments;

7.Thereafter the insurance company grants policy to the vehicle;

Instructions

1.Ensure that a certificate of insurance is issued upon completion of process;

2.Applicants should take note of the currency in which insured and policy limits are expressed in a chosen insurance company;

3.Choose an insurance policy that shall cover all the liability you need to cover under insurance of a vehicle;

4.Choose an insurance company that offers the policy required;

5.Ensure that all statements made relating to the insurance policy are correct;

6.Endeavor to give all relevant information relating to the vehicle to be insured;

7.Be aware that information given greatly influences the issuance of motor insurance;

8.Be aware of conditions in which a vehicle shall not covered in cases of any liabilities;

9.Insurance shall not cover any liability that occur while the vehicle is used purposes other than those which it is insured for or if a vehicle is used in any unsafe condition;

10.Insurance shall also not cover liabilities that occur as a result of driving while drunk, driving by an underage or physically / mentally ill person or being driven by a person with no legal authority (drivers license);

11.Liabilities resulting from excess loading shall also not be covered
