Procedure

Apply In-Person:

1. To Apply to Place Insurance Business Offshore, the applicant must visit the Reserve Bank of Fiji. Land Trust Board office in Fiji. Contact Link
2. The application form must be obtained from the authorities in the Reserve Bank, or else it can be downloaded from the website. Application Form
3. Make sure that you have all the documents that are mentioned in the “Required Documents” section of this page.
4. The application form should be filled with necessary details, and along with the required documents, it should be submitted to the respective authority in the Reserve Bank.
5. After submitting application and required documents, the authorities in Reserve Bank will analyse the application.
6. If the details in the application are legitimate with supporting documents, then the approval to transfer the insurance related shares will be granted to the applicant.
7. The fee details and the processing time of the application will be intimated to the applicant while applying.

• Other supporting documentary evidences requested by the authorities to the type of payment.

Note: All supporting documents should be stamped by the applicant’s banker.

• The company registered with Fiji Investment is eligible to apply for Insurance related transfers application.

Fees

• The fees details for the application will be intimated to the applicant while applying.

Validity

• The validity period will be intimated in the approval letter issued to the applicant by the Reserve Bank of Fiji.

• Purpose for offshore placement/remittance
• Gross Premium
• Non Resident Withholding Tax
• National Fire Service Levy
• Brokerage/Commission
• Name of Currency
• Amount to be remitted
• Amount in words
• Applicant/Brokers Company Stamp
• Signature
• Date
• Stamp of the Bank verifying the applicant’s signature. If the application is for ANY RECURRING PAYMENT, PLEASE QUOTE PREVIOUS PERMIT NO.

Need for the Document

• In order to transfer the Insurance related shares of the company, the company must notify and get approval from the Reserve Bank in Fiji.
