Fiji - Apply for a CITES Export Permit or Certificate

ProcedureEdit

Apply In-Person:

  1. To get CITES Export Permit or Certificate, the applicant has to visit Ministry of Waterways & Environment contact link
  2. Download the application form from the following link
  3. Applicant must provide all the information that is requested in the application form.
  4. Applicant must carry both photocopies and originals of all the documents that are needed for completing this procedure.
  5. Documents that are needed for completing this procedure are mentioned under the “Required Documents” section of this page.
  6. Applicant must attach both photocopies and originals of all the documents along with the completed application form before submitting it at the office.
  7. The Fee for this procedure has to be paid as per the authority’s request.
  8. If all these procedures were followed properly by the applicant, the permit will be provided within a stipulated period of time.
  9. The applicant will be notified regarding the permit or certificate via SMS or E-mail. Once after receiving the notification, the applicant can visit the office to get their permit or certificate.
  10. If there is no information regarding the permit is provided by the concerned officials, the applicant can visit the office to know the status of their permit or certificate.

  • A person who has legal custody or ownership of a species or specimen he wants to trade may apply for a CITES authorization. The concerned State Wildlife Authority can provide a certificate in this regard in the form of a Legal Procurement Certificate (LPC).
