Apply In-Person:

  1. To Apply for Survey by Maritime Safety Authority, the applicant must visit the Maritime Safety Authority of Fiji (MSAF). Contact Link
  2. The application form must be obtained from the authorities in the MSAF office, or else it can be downloaded from the website. Application Form
  3. Make sure that you have all the documents that are mentioned in the “Required Documents” section of this page.
  4. The application form should be filled with necessary details, and along with the required documents it should be submitted to the Chief Executive Officer of MSAF Fiji.
  5. The CEO will verify the application, and the procedure to survey the Ship approval Will be issued.
  6. The fee details for the survey of the ship will be intimated to the applicant while applying.
  7. The processing time for this procedure will be intimated by the authorities in the MSAF office.

EligibilityEdit

The owner of the Novel Ship is eligible to apply for the Survey application.

FeesEdit

  • The fee details for the survey of the ship will be intimated to the applicant while applying.
  • For overtime working, delays beyond control reasons, the applicant must pay extra charges.


ValidityEdit

The validity of the Survey Notice will be mentioned in the approval notice Issued to the applicant.

InstructionsEdit

  • Before applying for the Survey, the applicant must have given 24 hours written notice for attendance of a surveyor.
  • Without completing the Survey, the Ship should not be moved from the port.
  • In order to avoid the delay of the arrival, the owner of the ship may request for “Interim Survey Certificate” for 2 weeks duration, as soon the Surveyor Declaration is signed.

Need for the DocumentEdit

Before entering into the sea, the ship must have gone through the Survey, and should have the surveyal approval notice from the CEO of Fiji’s MSAF.
