Procedure

Apply In-Person:

1. To apply for Road Route Permit CL, the applicant must visit the Land Transport Authority (LTA) Fiji. Contacts
2. The “Application for Road Permit (Road Contract License)” form must be obtained from the authorities in the LTA office, else it can be downloaded from the website. Application Form
3. Make sure that you have all the documents that are mentioned in the “Required Documents” section of this page.
4. The application form must be filled with necessary details, and then along with the required documents it should be submitted to the Chief Executive Officer in the LTA office.
5. After verifying the application form, the application details will be updated in the LTA office system.
6. Then the Chief Executive officer will then approve the Road Route Permit CL application.
7. The fee and the processing time for this procedure will be intimated to the applicant while making the application in the Fiji LTA office.

• The applicant’s financial stability and a letter from the bank or a current bank statement.
• Finance for a deposit for at least two omnibuses to be shown.
• Details of any business or association where any other permit was issued by the Authority.
• In case of the applicant being a limited liability Company Registration Certificate and Memorandum and Articles of Association to be provided.
• Certificate of Fitness. (If applicable)
• A written authority of transfer from Permit Holder. (In case of application for transfer of road permit)
• Two recent passport size photos.

Eligibility

• To apply for the Road Route Permit CL, the applicant must own an Omnibus.
• The Road Route Permit is a compulsory procedure, driving a vehicle in certain routes without the road route permit is illegal in Fiji.
  

Fees

The application fee and the permit fee will be intimated to the applicant while applying in the Fiji LTA office by the authorities.

Validity

• The validity of the Road Route Permit will be mentioned by the authorities in the Road Route Permit Approval form.
• The applicant must renew at least 28 days before the expiry date of the permit.

Before applying, the applicant should confirm the conditions:

• The suitability of the routes on which service would be provided under the permit.
• The suitability of the vehicle to be used.
• His /Her suitability to hold a permit. [Applicant please note that Police vetting reports are to be produced before application fees are paid at LTA.]
• That the proposed service does not negatively affect other public service operators, also it will not offer unfair and wasteful competition with alternative forms of transport operating in the same sphere.

Need for the Document
