Procedure

Apply In-Person:

1. To apply for Revalidation of Certificate of Competency and Proficiency Certificate, the applicant must visit the Maritime Safety Authority of Fiji (MSAF). Contacts Link
2. The application form must be obtained from the authorities in the MSAF office, or else it can be downloaded from the website. Application Form
3. Make sure that you have all the documents that are mentioned in the “Required Documents” section.
4. The application form should be filled with necessary details, and then it should be submitted along with the required documents to the CEO – Chief Executive Officer in the MSAF.
5. The CEO in the MSAF office will verify the application form and then will issue the Certificate of Competency and Proficiency to the applicant.
6. The complete fee structure for this procedure is given in the “Fees” section below.
7. The processing time for this procedure will be intimated by the authorities in the MSAF office.

• Seafarers Medical Fitness Certificate.
• Statutory Declaration Form.
• Seafarer Employment Record Book.
• Proof of Identity.
• Eyesight Test.
• Character Reference (must have been written not more than 1 year prior to this application)
• Record of Service to support seatime claimed.
