Procedure

Apply In-Person:

1. To apply for the new renewal of Permanent exemption permit, the applicant must visit the Land Transport Authority (LTA) Fiji. Contacts
2. The “Application for Approval of Permanent Exemption Permit” application form must be obtained from the authorities in the LTA office, or else you can download it from the official website. Application form
3. Make sure that you have all the documents that are mentioned in the “Required Documents” section of this page.
4. The application form should be filled with necessary details along with the required drawings.
5. The application must be sent to the nearest LTA office with the documents, plans, and drawings.
6. After checking the application form, the CSO officer will forward it to the Team Leader and regional manager in LTA office.
7. The team leader and the regional manager will verify the temporary exemption application.
8. If the details and the documents are correct, the authorities will approve the application form.
9. After that, you have to pay the application fee.
10. The application fee for this is $ 9.48 and the exemption permit fee is $73.40.
11. Further, the details of the renewal of permanent exemption application details will be updated in the LTA office’s system.
12. After the fee payment, the authorities will issue the exemption permit to the applicant.
13. The processing time will be intimated by the authorities in the Fiji LTA office.

Eligibility

• The renewal of permanent exemption permit is only given to persons to which the government of Fiji has approved.
• These people may by expatriates or diplomats.
• If the applicant is from overseas, then they are eligible to apply if they have an overseas registration certificate.
  

Fees

• Application Fee - $9.48
• Exemption Permit Fee - $73.46/ per annum
  

Validity

• The renewal permanent exemption permit is valid for 1 year.
• After the validity period, the applicant must get a new permit again.
