Apply In-Person:

  1. To apply for Liquor license, the applicant should visit the Divisional Liquor Licensing Authority in Fiji Island.
  2. The application form must be obtained from the Divisional office, where you intend to open the liquor business.
  3. Make sure that you have all the documents that are mentioned in the “Required Documents” section of this page.
  4. The application form should be filled with necessary details, and then it should be submitted along with the required documents to the authorities in the Divisional office.
  5. After filing the application, the applicant must post the advertisement about the liquor license in English, Fijian, and Hindustani Languages within 7 days.
  6. After that, the Secretary in the Divisional Licensing office will go through the application and then will forward it to the “Commissioner of the Division, Divisional Police Commander, Health Authority, Town Council, National Fire Authority, and OHS at Ministry of Labour, and the Roko Tui of the province or Advisory Council” for verification.
  7. After getting the approval from the mentioned authorities, the divisional officer will grant liquor license to the applicant.
  8. If the license if approved, then the applicant must pay the license fee, and then can proceed with the liquor business in the intended location.
  9. If any of the authority did not approve the application, then the license will not be granted to the applicant.
  10. The processing time for approving the Liquor license will be intimated to the applicant while applying.

Required DocumentsEdit

  • Completed Application form.
  • A copy of approved/certified block plan of the premises (clearly showing the boundaries in which liquor would be sold, proposed bars, restricted areas or supervised areas).
  • In case of foreign Investor, then they have to get approval from Fiji Islands Trade and Investment Bureau and work permit from the Immigration Department.
  • Company Registration Certificate
  • Applicant’s Birth Certificate.
  • If it’s a Club Registration, then Certificate of Registration as a club.

EligibilityEdit

Any Fiji citizen, Fiji Residents, or Foreign investors can apply for Liquor license, if they provide the essential funds and documents.

FeesEdit

The liquor license application fee is $1,000.

ValidityEdit

  • The liquor license is valid for 3 years.
  • The license must be renewed 3 months before the expiry of the license.
