Procedure

Apply In-Person:

1. To apply for Driving Instructors Permit, the applicant must visit the Land Transport Authority (LTA) Fiji. Contacts
2. The “Application for a Driving Instructor’s Permit” form must be obtained from the authorities in the LTA office, else it can be downloaded from the website. Form
3. Make sure that you have all the documents that are mentioned in the “Required Documents” section of this page.
4. The application form must be filled with all the necessary details and then along with the required documents, it should be submitted to the CSO – Customer Service Officer.
5. After the application, the applicant must pass the theory exam, and get the certificate from the standard and compliance officer.
6. After that, the applicant must pass the practical exam and after that the details of the exam must be updated in the LTA office system.
7. Now, the application details will be updated in the LTA system, and after this the applicant must pay their application fee.
8. The application fee receipt will be issued to the applicant.
9. After this, the application will be forwarded for to the Team Leader, and then to the RM, and then to the MSC, and GMO.
10. After getting the approval from them mentioned officers, the application will be finally sent to the CEO - Chief Executive Officer.
11. The application will be verified thoroughly by the LTA officials. If the details are correct and the applicant is eligible for the Driving Instructor, the approval letter will be issued.
12. If the application gets rejected, the rejection letter will be issued by the Standard and Compliance officer to the applicant.
13. After getting the approval letter, the applicant must pay their Permit fee.
14. The driving instructor permit will be finally issued to the applicant through standard and compliance officer.

Eligibility

• The applicant must be 25 years or above.
• They must pass the DIP course to get the permit.
• Also, they should have valid full license.
• Individuals fulfilling all the conditions framed by the LTA office; are only eligible to apply for the driving instructor permit.
  

Fees

• The DIP course fee is $ 750.
• Application fee is $ 10.
• Annual Fee is $ 27.50.
  

Validity

• The validity permit of the Driving Instructor will be mentioned in the Permit.
• The permit must be renewed at least 28 days before the validity period.
• motor vehicle inspection validity period will be mentioned in the given inspection report.

Need for the Document

• To become a Driving Instructor in Fiji, the applicant must first get the instructor permit from the authorities in LTA office.
• Without the permit, the applicant is not allowed to teach anybody in the Fiji to drive vehicles.
