ProcedureEdit

Apply In-Person:

  1. To Apply for EPIRB (Emergency Position-Indicating Radio Beacon) Registration, the applicant must visit the Maritime Safety Authority of Fiji (MSAF). Contact Link
  2. The application form must be obtained from the authorities in the MSAF office, or else it can be downloaded from the website. Application Form
  3. Make sure that you have all the documents that are mentioned in the “Required Documents” section of this page.
  4. The application form should be filled with necessary details, and along with the required documents it should be sent via post to the Safety, Compliance & Response Division in MSAF Fiji.
  5. The authorities will verify the application, and the details of the EPIRB Registration will be updated in the MSAF system for further Search and Rescue Purposes.
  6. The final approval will be given by the CEO of Fiji’s MSAF.
  7. There is no fee for registering the EPIRB process in Fiji.
  8. The processing time for this procedure will be intimated by the authorities in the MSAF office.
