Procedure

Apply In-Person:

1. To Apply for Arm License, the applicant must visit the Fiji Police Force office. Contact Link
2. The applicant should obtain the appropriate application form from the authorities in the Fiji Police office.
3. The prescribed fee for the application must also be paid and the receipt must be attached along with the application.
4. The application form should be filled with necessary details and then along with the required documents it should be submitted to the Commissioner of the Police Force.
5. Make sure that you have all the documents that are mentioned in the “Required Documents” section of this page.
6. After submitting the application, it will be verified by the Commissioner and other respective officials.
7. If the applicant qualifies the eligibility criteria set by the Police commissioner, then the arms license will be signed and approved personally by the Police commissioner.
8. The fee details and the processing time will be intimated to the applicant at the police office.

Eligibility

Any individual who wishes to possess arms in Fiji must apply for the Arms license application and get it approved by the Police commissioner.

Fees

The fee details will be intimated to the applicant while applying.

Validity

• The arms dealer license is valid for a year, and it expires every 31st of December.
• After the validity period, the license holder must apply again for the new license.

Instructions

To get the Arm’s license, the applicant must,

• Pass the practical and written exam approved by the Police commissioner.
• Have competent knowledge to handle, use, store, assemble, disassemble, clean, repair, tests, or proves any arms or ammunitions.
• Be a natural person.
  

After getting the license approved,

• The license holder must carry the license whenever carrying the arms with them.
• The photograph of the license holder must be attached to the arms.

Need for the Document

Without the arm’s license, nobody in the Fiji is allowed to use the arms, as it is an offense.
