ProcedureEdit

  • Applicants who are wishing to extend their work and residence permit must complete and submit an application to the local police in the Faroe Islands.
  • Your employer must confirm his continued job-offer by filling out the relevant form (FO/AR2, Part 2).
  • The local police will then forward your application to the Danish Immigration Service.
  • Once the Danish Immigration Service receives the application, it will request a statement from the Faroese Immigration Office (tlendingastovan).

Required DocumentsEdit

  • copy of the applicants passport
  • copy of the applicants authorization (if the job in question requires authorization)
  • copy of a contract with the employer if the job-conditions have changed or the previous contract was limited in time
  • certification from ALS, see page 11/11 if the applicant has been in the same job for less than 2 years

InstructionsEdit

The requirements you must meet to extend the validity of your residence and work permit, depend on the type of residence permit you hold.

Remember to submit your application for an extension no sooner than two months before, and no later than one month before your residence permit expires.

An applications for an extension should normally be submitted at a police station in the Faroe Islands. The police will then forward the application to the Danish Immigration Service.

Once the Danish Immigration Service receives the application, it will request a statement from the Faroese Immigration Office (tlendingastovan).
