Procedure

Apply In-Person:

1. Application for renewal of business license in Ethiopia is available in Ministry of Trade and Industry contact link
2. Applicant should make sure to enter all information in the application form.
3. Certain necessary documents must be carried by the applicant for completing the procedure (both photocopies and originals).
4. Documents that are necessary for this procedure to complete are mentioned under “Required Documents” section of this page.
5. Applicant should make sure to carry photocopies and originals of the documents that are required for the procedure to complete.
6. Applicant must attach photocopies of documents (whichever is necessary) along with the application form while submitting.
7. Fee for this procedure is 35 Birr.
8. If all the above-mentioned procedures were followed properly, applicant can get renewal of their business license from the office.
9. Processing time for this procedure is 7-15 days.

Instructions

• While applying for a renewal of business license, applicant has to provide genuine information.
• Applicant must follow all instructions provided by concerned authorities for the renewal of their license.
• If the license has not been renewed on time, a penalty of 2,500 Birr is charged for first month and if the situation continued for another month, then, a penalty of 1,500 Birr is charged from the next month.
