Procedure

Apply In-Person:

1. To get application form for renewal of Clinical Officer Practice Licence, the applicant has to approach Ministry of Health Ethiopia contact link
2. Applicant has to get the application form from the respective office.
3. Applicant has to fill-in all the necessary details in the application form.
4. Applicant must make sure to carry documents that are listed under “Required Documents” section of this page (Both photocopies and originals).
5. Applicant has to attach photocopies of documents (whichever is necessary) along with the application form.
6. Submit the application form along with the required documents to the respective office.
7. Fee for this procedure has given in “Fees” section of this procedure.
8. Upon the successful registration, the renewal of license will be issued within 7days.

Eligibility

• Those who pass the clinical officers council registration examination shall be approved to obtain a clinical officer practice license in any of the approved hospitals.

Fees

• Renewal of license is 5000birr.
• Late renewal of license is 7500birr.

Validity

• License is renewable after 2 years

• Applicant must complete the application form before submitting. Incomplete applications will not be accepted.
• Applicant must provide genuine information while applying for this procedure.
• The Council gives a practicing license to a qualified Clinical officer to practice both in public and private sector. Practicing license is renewable after 2 years. The renewal of the practicing license takes in to consideration CPD points and observation of professional standards and ethics.

Need for the Document

• All clinical officers who have completed three years institutional training of their basic course in Ethiopia, are required to undergo one year of internship in an approved hospital.
