Procedure

Apply In-Person:

1. Application form for converting a Foreign Private Pilot License in Ethiopia is available in the Ethiopian Civil Aviation Authority contact link
2. Applicant must provide all necessary information in the application form before submitting it.
3. Applicant should make sure to carry photocopies and originals of all documents needed for this procedure to complete.
4. Documents that are needed for completing this procedure are mentioned under “Required Documents” section of this page.
5. Applicant should make sure to attach photocopies of necessary documents along with the application form while submitting it at the office.
6. Fee for this procedure has to be paid as per the authority’s request.
7. If all above-mentioned procedures were followed properly, applicant can get their license within 14 days.
8. Applicant can get their license by visiting the office after getting a notification from concerned authorities.
9. If there is no information provided by concerned authorities, applicant can visit the office to know status of their application.

• Ethiopians and Permanent residents of Ethiopia above the age of 17 years of age are eligible.

Fees

• Fee for this procedure has to be paid as per authority’s request.

Validity

• For people who are less than 40 years of age, the license is valid for 24 months.
• For people who are above 40 years of age, the license is valid for 12 months.
