Procedure

Apply In-Person:

1. To Apply for Export and Trade Competency Certificate, the applicant has to approach Ethiopian Revenue and Customs Authority Link or the applicant can approach the Ministry of trade and industry Link
2. An application form will be provided to the applicant by the respective officer.
3. The applicant has to fill in all necessary details in the application form (Incomplete application are not accepted)
4. Make sure to prepare all the necessary documents that are mentioned in the “Required Documents” section of this page.
5. Applicant has to attach the photocopies of the required documents along with the application form.
6. Submit the application form to the respective officer.
7. The applicant has to pay the prescribed fee as per the authority’s request.
8. After payment was is done, the authority will issue the competency certificate within the stipulated period of time.

• Certified copy of your official identification document or passport
• Certified copy of your permanent residence permit in case of a non- South African citizen
• Certified copy of your proficiency training certificate issued by an accredited training provider
• Two passport-size colour photographs (with a neutral background) that are not older than three months
• Certified proof of residence
• Exporter trade license
• A valid business registration certificate.
• Payment receipt.
