Estonia - Apply for Taxi License
ProcedureEdit
- To obtain a taxi license, applicants will need to submit an application to their local government agency.
- Submit an application together with these documents:
- Completed application (containing the contact details of the applicant, including the telephone number, e-mail address, and postal address).
- If the applicant is a legal person, the name and registry code.
- If the applicant is a legal person that is being founded, a foundation document, in particular, the foundation agreement or the foundation resolution or at least a copy thereof authenticated by a notary must be submitted.
- If the applicant is a self-employed person, the name and registry code of the applicant.
- If the applicant wants that the term of validity of the license granted to the applicant be limited in comparison with the term of validity set out in the Act, the requested term of validity of the license must be submitted.
- Pay the prescribed state fee.
- It will take about 30 calendar days for your application to be processed.
If an application contains deficiencies, the applicant will be granted a reasonable time limit for eliminating the deficiencies. The time limit set for reviewing the application will be suspended until the deficiencies have been eliminated. - Operators are notified of the issue of their activity license by regular mail or e-mail.
- Activity licenses are issued electronically.

Applicants must meet the following requirements:
- The applicant must be entered in the Commercial Register or the register of non-profit associations and foundations.
- The applicant must be of good repute.
- The operator must not have any non-deferred tax arrears and not declared bankrupt.
- The applicant must pay the state fee prescribed for reviewing applications for an activity license.

ValidityEdit
An activity license is granted for an unspecified term, unless the applicant requests it for a shorter term.
Upon expiry of the term of validity of an activity license, a new license may be applied for provided that all requirements for applicants are met.

To those who are wishing to provide taxi services in Estonia, you will need to apply for taxi license first.
A taxi license is granted to a carrier by the rural municipality government or the city government or an agency authorised by the rural municipality government or the city government on whose administrative territory the carrier wishes to provide the transport service (the service area).
