Procedure

Apply In-Person:

1. To Obtain Flight Radio Telephony Operator License in person, the applicant has to contact the nearest Civil Aviation Authority Office in Egypt.
2. Information related to the civil aviation office and License authority can be obtained from the “Office locations and contacts” section of this page.
3. Application form will provide by the authority officer.
4. Applicant has to fill-in all the necessary details in the application form.
5. The applicant has to make sure he or she has all the required documents that are required for this process to be successful and they can be found under the "Required Documents" section or this page.
6. When all the conditions have been met, and have been satisfactorily certified by the Authority’s Licensing Office, the applicant will be advised to pay the prescribed fees found under the "Fees" section of this page.
7. Attach the required documents with the letter of application.
8. If the receiving officers is satisfied that all the requirements have been met for the issue of a licence and the prescribed application form has been completed and presented in the Personnel Licensing Office, the applicant will be advised to pay the prescribed application fees, after which the licence will be issued.
9. Applicant are also to proceed to pay the prescribed application fees and submit the payment receipt to together with the application documents
10. A processing time of 7 days is needed to complete the processing of the Flight Radio Telephony Operator License application, after which you will be contacted through a phone call to collect the applicant license at the CAA’s Personnel Licensing offices.
11. The applicant required to carry your identification documents when collecting the applicant new license.

• A knowledge test results slip
• Two (2) current passport size photographs (full face) whose size should be 2cm by 2.5cm
• Records substantiating the experience shown on the application Form in form of a logbook

Eligibility

• The applicant should be at least seventeen (17) years of age;
• Have the ability to read, speak, write and understand the English language.
• Have undergone the relevant training and passed the written knowledge test for a radio telephone operator license the results of which are valid for twenty-four months (2 years) after passing the examination.
• Demonstrate a level of knowledge appropriate to the privileges granted to a holder of a flight radiotelephone operator license in an oral examination done by the examiners.

Fees

• A fee for this procedure is EGP. 4,500.

Validity

• The Flight Radio Telephony Operator License is valid for 2 years.

The applicant should

• Take and successfully completed approved course of training
• Obtain Application form from PEL Offices and complete the prescribed application form.
• Submit all the required documents.
• Pay the applicable fees and submit the payment receipt.

Need for the Document

• The Flight Radio Telephony Operator's License authorises to operate an Aircraft Radio Station in an Egyptian registered aircraft.
• The license is held in conjunction with another Flight Crew license.
