Egypt - How to Claim Unclaimed Financial Assets (Beneficiary Claim)

Apply In-Person:

  1. To apply for Claim Unclaimed Financial Assets (Beneficiary Claim) in person, the applicant has to approach the Egyptian Real Estate Taxation Authority in Egypt.

  3. Applicant must obtain the application form from the relevant department.
  4. Once the applicant obtain the application form, fill it and submit to the Authority, the receiving officer shall check for completeness of the form to ensure it meets the licensing requirements and register his/her application as received.
  5. The applicant has to make sure he or she has all the required documents that are required for this process to be successful and they can be found under the "Required Documents" section of this page.
  6. A Fee for this procedure is free of charge.
  7. An applicant is also to submit the application document together with all the required documents to the Unclaimed Financial Assets Authority’s Offices.
  8. The evaluation team will go through the application document and after period of ninety days, the unclaimed assets will be releases the original owner.
  9. If all the above mentioned procedures were followed properly by the applicant, the application form will be viewed by concerned authorities and the applicant will be notified regarding their application.
  10. Communications on how to collect the unclaimed assets will be done through email and telephone call.
  11. If there is no information regarding the application, then, the applicant can visit the office to know status of the application.
  12. The processing time for this procedure is 30 days.

Summary of instructions/steps

  • Visit the Unclaimed Financial Assets Authority’s offices or ministry of finance to get the application form or download the application form and fill in the required information.
  • Prepare all the required documents and attach to the application form.
  • Submit the application form to the Unclaimed Financial Assets Authority’s Offices.
  • Wait for verification of application and document; and running of notice of application for a 30 days gazzetement period in the Egypt gazette.
  • Upon approval the applicant will receive communications on how to collect his/her asset.

Need for the DocumentEdit

  • This application allows a person who is not the owner of an assets but acting as an agent to make a claim on assets that have been presumed abandoned and have become unclaimed assets under the provisions of sections 4 to 18 of UFA Act to reclaim the assets.
