Procedure

Apply In-Person:

1. To Get Export Permit for Brown Sugar in person, the applicant has to approach the Ministry of Trade and Industry in Egypt Contact link
2. Information related to the respective office and License authority can be obtained from the “Office locations and contacts” section of this page.
3. Visit the office and get an application form for a Get Export Permit for Brown Sugar as applicable to the applicant requirement, from the respective department.
4. Make sure that his/her have all the documents listed in the “Required Documents” section of this page.
5. Payment of appropriate fees should be made and that can be found under the "Fees" section of this page.
6. Now, complete the application form with appropriate information under relevant sections. Attest it with the applicant signature once completed.
7. Once completed the application form, submit it in person to the relevant authority at the office.
8. After submission, the application and other documents will be forwarded for examination and verification processes.
9. Where, upon review of an application under sub-regulation, the Authority finds that the application is incomplete, the Authority shall request the applicant to provide additional information or clarify the information provided.
10. The Authority shall, within 14 days after receipt of an application or additional information, investigate and prepare a detailed report in respect of the application to enable the processing of the application.
11. After considering the application and the report, the Authority may grant a person approval certificate.
12. If there is no information regarding the application, then, the applicant can visit the office to know status of the application.
13. The processing time for this procedure is 14 days.

Eligibility

• Any person aged 18 years and above and legally residing in the country can get Export Permit for Brown Sugar.
• Any person who obtains permission for Export for Brown Sugar in Egypt is eligible.
• Any person who has the import interest and meets the above requirements and is importing/exporting for Brown Sugar that does not fall in the restricted list.
  

Fees

• Application fee of EGP 1000.00 (non-refundable)

Validity

• The certificate is valid for a period of one year.

• License category (Estate / Co-operative Society)
• Milling category applying for (Grower-miller/ Commercial-miller)
• Declaration by the applicant

Need for the Document

• An export license is a license issued by the Board to allow the holder to take or cause to be taken out of Egypt sugar and its by-products.
• The licence is issued only for the specific consignment being exported.
• This permit is required to ensure that Brown Sugar exported and imported by an individual or organization comply with the provisions of international agreements.

Information which might help

• In May, the government had allowed exports of 100 lakh tonne of sugar, but later allowed another 12 lakh tonne. This took the total export quota for 2021-22 marketing year to 112 lakh tonne.
