The procedure to be followed to Export goods in Egypt is given below.
- Obtain an Export permit, if the types of goods require you to be checked before packing.
- The first thing you should do is to ensure that all goods to be Exported meet Egyptian standards as well as international standard prescribed by General Authority for Import/Export/Quality Control in Egypt at the Ministry of Trade and industry.
- The Exporter should obtain documents from the Supplier/s then forwards the documents to the Clearing Agent
- Then the clearing agent sends an export declaration with supporting documents to the Customs Officer charged with exports.
- The Customs Officer then verifies both the Customs entry(declaration) and the attached supporting documents such as invoice, packing list, certificate of origin, certificate of quality to check the conformity on standards, etc.
- If there is no inconsistency and that the goods are not being exported contrary to the export control regulations, the Customs officer followed by issuance of receipt and acceptance of an entry in ASYCUDA ++ system.
- The officer will validate the release order, print and issue the exit note to the clearing Agent

- The cost to process the document is $400
- The export cost per container in Egypt, Arab Rep. is 625 US$. Egypt, Arab Rep. ranks #13 worldwide in terms of the Cost to export

Egyptians have strict laws prohibiting the export of the some goods like Drugs, firearms and cotton . Restricted other items includes Cash, cheques, credit cards and gold over the value of EGP500.00 must be declared on arrival. Egypt's mainstay of the export menu include the exports of natural gas,aluminum, cotton clothing iron and steel products. But mostly natural gas. The economy is highly dependent on oil exports, which is its major source of foreign income together with tourism receipts and US financial and military aid. It has to import most of its food, other commodities and equipment, since both its agricultural and industrial sectors are not well-developed.
