Procedure

Apply In-Person:

1. To Convert Foreign Flight Engineer License in person, the applicant has to contact the nearest Civil Aviation Authority Office in Egypt Location link
2. Information related to the civil aviation office and License authority can be obtained from the “Office locations and contacts” section of this page.
3. Applicant must obtain the application form from the relevant department.
4. Applicant should read carefully in the application form, after all details must be filled in the application form.
5. The   applicant   shall   submit a written application together with one passport size photograph and pay the prescribed fee and shall complete an application form.
6. The applicant has to make sure he or she has all the required documents that are required for this process to be successful and they can be found under the "Required Documents" section or this page.
7. When all the conditions have been met, and have been satisfactorily certified by the Authority’s Licensing Office, the applicant will be advised to pay the prescribed fees found under the "Fees" section of this page.
8. After paying the prescribed fees, the applicant is issued an Convert Foreign Flight Engineer License within 7 days.

• A properly completed prescribed application Form
• The foreign licence to be converted
• The relevant medical certificate
• A knowledge test report and/or practical test report
• Personal logbooks or other records substantiating the flight experience shown on the Application Form;
• Two (2) passport size recent photographs (full face) (if applicable)
• Payment receipt of the prescribed fees.

Eligibility

Applicant must:

• The foreign licence must be valid
• The applicant must have a valid medical certificate from a Egypt designated medical examiner
• Any limitations on the licence will apply as appropriate.

Fees

• A fee for this procedure is EGP. 8,000.

Validity

• Flight Engineer Licence is valid from the date the licence is issued or renewed by the Authority for a period of the remainder of the twelve month validity of the holder’s Medical Certificate.

Need for the Document

• A person shall not act as a flight engineer of an aircraft registered in Egypt unless that person holds a flight engineer license with appropriate ratings.
• The pilot of every aircraft and the other members of the operating crew of every aircraft engaged in international navigation should have certificates of competency and licenses issued or rendered valid by the State in which the aircraft is registered.
