Procedure

Apply In-Person:

1. To apply for a Specific Trade Business or Consultancy Permit in person, the applicant has to approach the General Organization for Export and Import Control (GOEIC) Contact link
2. Applicant must obtain the application form from the relevant department.
3. Applicant must provide all the necessary information in the application form.
4. The applicant has to make sure that he or she has all the required documents that are required for this process to be successful and they can be found under the "Required Documents" section of this page.
5. Applicant should attach photocopies of documents (whichever is necessary) along with the applicant form while submitting it at the office.
6. Payment of appropriate fees should be made and that can be found under the "Fees" section of this page.
7. Submit the completed forms along with the supporting documents at the respective office for verification and processing.
8. This application will be processed and information will be verified by the authority.
9. If the verification is successful, the notification will be sent to the applicant.
10. After getting the notification from concerned authorities, applicant can visit the office to collect their document.
11. If there is no information regarding the application, then, the applicant can visit the office to know status of the application.
12. The Processing time for this procedure is 1 month.

Required Documents

• Duly filled and signed Form 25 online form.
• Two copies of detailed and signed cover letter from the employer / organization, addressed to the Director of Immigration Services
• Copy of a valid national passport
• Two(2) recent passport size colored photos (for both new and renewal)
• Current Immigration status if in the country
• Copy of any previous permit(s) and or pass(es) held
• Documentary proof of capital to be invested at least USD 100,000
• Certificate of incorporation of the company
• Memorandum of understanding
• Articles of association
• Copies of PIN certificate
• Signed audited accounts for the last one year (for renewals)
• Tax compliance certificate from KRA (for renewals)
• Clearance letter from relevant institutions.
• Provide a proof of offshore transaction receipt / slip.

• Has in his own right and at his full and free disposition sufficient capital and other resources for the purpose of carrying out a specific trade, business or consultancy.

Fees

• A fees for this procedure is $100,000.

• The validity for this procedure is 2 years.

• Gratis status (All citizens of the East Africa Community (Uganda, Tanzania, Rwanda, Burundi) can attach their valid passport as evidence.)

Need for the Document

This permit is issued to a person who intends to engage, whether alone or in partnership, in a specific trade, business, consultancy or profession (other than a prescribed profession) in Egypt, and who;

• Has obtained any licence, registration or other authority or permission that may be necessary for the purpose.
• Has in his own right and at his full and free disposition sufficient capital and other resources for the purpose.
• Whose engagement in trade, business, consultancy or profession will be of benefit to Egypt.

Information which might help

• The registration fee is non refundable.
• Incomplete applications will not be accepted.
• Engaging in any form of business or employment without a requisite permit or pass is an offence.
• The applicant must be present in person when the application is presented at the immigration headquarters or regional offices for registration.
• Giving false or misleading information is an offence punishable by law.
• Any person who contravenes any provision or requirement of an order issued to a foreign national commits an offence and is liable to a fine, imprisonment or both.
