Procedure

Apply In-Person:

1. To Apply for a Professional Hunters Licence in person, the applicant has to approach The Ministry of Manpower and Immigration or Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Contact link
2. The applicant can collect the application Form from the office of the Ministry of the Interior.
3. Proof that he/she attended a registered professional hunting school and possesses the necessary knowledge, ability, skills and experience required, as well as having passed the relevant practical examinations.
4. Proof that he/she has successfully completed the theoretical examination set by the relevant provincial nature conservation authorities. No person under the age of twenty-one (21) shall be issued a permit to operate as a professional hunter.
5. Fill in all the necessary details in the application and submit with supporting documents as mentioned in the “Required Documents” section, with corresponding fees to the.
6. Payment of appropriate fees should be made and that can be found under the "Fees" section of this page.
7. Submit the completed forms along with the supporting documents at the respective office for verification and processing.
8. This application will be processed and information will be verified by the authority.
9. If all the above mentioned procedures were followed properly by the applicant, the application form will be viewed by concerned authorities and the applicant will be notified regarding their license.
10. If an application is rejected, the license fee shall be refunded back to the applicant.
11. On scrutinizing the application if the issuing officer is satisfied, he shall grant the license to the applicant within 7days.

Eligibility

There are two requirements that must be met before the applicant can apply for the professional Hunters license. Applicants must:

• Be over 18 years of age and a citizen of Egypt.
• Before qualifying for a professional Hunters licence, applicant must become a member of an Approved Professional Hunting Organization.

Fees

• Professional Hunters Licence (Birds) EGP.10,000.00.
• Professional hunters (birds) license test EGP.500,00

Validity

• A license granted shall be valid for the period specified, and not exceeding one year.

Instructions

• An application for any hunter licence as specified under regulation 25(2) shall be made to the Director in the form set out in the Twenty First Schedule.
• The Director may issue a hunter licence as specified under regulation 25(2), if he is satisfied that the applicant-
  • Has successfully completed any test that may be required by the Director, which test may be oral, written or practical; and
  • Fulfils all other conditions, as may be determined by the Director, for the specific licence to be issued.
    
• A hunter licence specified under regulation 25(2) shall be in the form set out in the Twenty Fourth Schedule and shall be issued on payment of an appropriate fee specified in the Twenty Fifth Schedule.
• The designated authority will review the submitted online application.
• If the application is approved, the applicant shall receive the certificate within the stipulated processing period on their email address.

Need for the Document

• Persons who wish to engage in activities of hunting game birds are required to have a Game License (GL) issued by the Licensing Officer. The GL authorizes the hunting of Game birds in such areas, for such periods, and subject to such conditions as may be prescribed by the Ministry of Manpower and Immigration or Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
• His/her professional hunter’s permit will be endorsed to exclude the hunting of elephant, rhino, lion, leopard, buffalo and hippo.
