Procedure

Apply In-Person:

1. To apply for a Prescribed Profession Permit in person, the applicant has to approach the Ministry of Manpower and Immigration. Contact Link
2. Applicant must obtain the application form from the relevant department.
3. Applicant should read carefully in the application form, after all details must be filled in the application form.
4. Applicant must provide all the necessary information in the application form.
5. Documents that are needed for this procedure are mentioned under “Required Documents” section of this page.
6. Payment of appropriate fees should be made and that can be found under the "Fees" section of this page.
7. Applicant should attach photocopies of documents (whichever is necessary) along with the applicant form while submitting it at the office.
8. Submit the completed form in two copies along with the supporting documents to the respective office.
9. This application will be processed and information will be verified by the authority.
10. If all these procedures were followed properly by the applicant, the permit will be provided within 3 months.
11. The processing time for this procedure is 14 days.

• A completed application from the Ministry of Manpower and Training Facilities at the Tahrir complex
• A valid passport
• Seven passport-size photos
• Two copies of your company’s incorporation contract
• Two copies of the employee’s tax ID card
• Two copies of the individual’s academic degrees and certificates
• A copy of your company’s commercial register
• License for exercising the profession, if applicable
• A memorandum justifying your reason for hiring a foreigner
• Approval from the related authority
• Proof of a company representative acting on the employee’s behalf to apply for the work permit
• A negative HIV test

Eligibility

Applicant who:

• Possesses the prescribed qualification.
• Has in his own right and at his full and free disposition sufficient capital and other resources.
• Is registered with the professional body, association or institute to which he belongs in his own country.

Fees

• The fee for profession permit is 1000 EGP.

Validity

• The validity period is one year.

• The registration fee is non refundable
• Incomplete applications will not be accepted.
• Engaging in any form of business or employment without a requisite permit or pass is an offence.
• The applicant must be present in person when the application is presented at the immigration headquarters or regional offices for registration.
• Giving false or misleading information is an offence punishable by law.
• Any person who contravenes any provision or requirement of an order issued to a foreign national commits an offence and is liable to a fine, imprisonment or both.
