Procedure

Apply In-Person:

1. To apply for a Premises License for Handling pesticides in person, the applicant has to approach The Agricultural Pesticides Committee. Contact Link
2. Information related to the respective authority can be obtained from the “Office locations and contacts” section of this page.
3. Applicant must obtain the application form from the relevant department.
4. Applicant should read carefully in the application form, after all details must be filled in the application form.
5. Applicant has to enter all the information in the application form.
6. The applicant has to make sure he or she has all the required documents that are required for this process to be successful. A list of these documents can be found under the "Required Documents" section of this page.
7. The Board shall upon receipt of the application, cause an inspection to be conducted of the veterinary laboratory. This is usually one day after the submission of the application and is done only once.
8. Applicant will be required to pay the appropriate inspection fees and submit the payment receipt. Application fee details shall be provided by the concerned licensing officer.
9. If the board is satisfied that the applicant complies with the standards set out in regulations, the board will advise the applicant to pay the licensing fees. The amount of fees to be paid can be found under the "Fees" section of this page.
10. After payment of the requisite fee, the board will approve the application and issue a license.
11. The license may be cancelled at any time when the Board establishes a breach of any of its provisions or regulations.
12. The Processing time for this procedure is 1 month.

Eligibility

• All agencies owning premises dealing in insecticides and pesticides activities in Egypt are eligible for the license.
• All Citizens /companies/business in Egypt are eligible.

Fees

• Application fee details shall be provided by the concerned licensing officer.

Validity

• License is valid for a period of 1 year and renewable thereafter.

• All required document should submitted in English or Egypt language and must be legibly printed and not hand written.
• Where originals (documents) are in another language, copies should be presented together with certified English translations.
• To maintain your license status, the facility shall be inspected annually to ensure that the facility remains in compliance with the license requirements.

• Name and address of estate/land, farm, town, area as may be applicable.
• Numbers and type of pesticide application equipment
• Have the applicant had any professional training in pest control? (yes/No). If yes provide evidence of the training.
• Presence of personal protective equipment (PPE) (yes/no), if yes provide list and type of PPE
• Method of storage of pesticides and unused chemicals
• Method of disposal of used pesticide containers and excess chemicals
• Category of pesticide he/she propose to deal in (General/restricted/all use)
• Is storage facility available? (yes/no) if yes indicate the size
• Type, and size of retail facility
• Type of display facility at storage/retail premise
• Method and place of final disposal of obsolete pesticides (please elaborate)
• Types of pesticides to be formulated/repackaged or manufactured
• Production capacity per annum
• Type and sources of raw materials
• Type of packaging of products
• Type and quantities of waste generated (solid, liquid and gases)
• Describe waste management practices
• Declaration by applicant

Need for the Document

• No person shall use any premises, or being the owner or occupier thereof permit or allow the premises to be used, for the purposes of manufacturing, formulating, packaging, selling or storing, pest control products unless that person is in possession of a licence issued under the Regulations in respect of those premises.
