Procedure

Apply In Person

1. To Apply for Monthly Financial Aid in person, the applicant has to approach the Ministry of Social Solidarity.

3. The applicant has to visit the office and obtain an application form for Monthly Financial Aid (as applicable) from the relevant department.
4. Make sure that all the documents in the “Required Documents” section of this page are available.
5. The application process is free and the applicant need not pay anything to apply for the s Monthly Financial Aid.
6. Complete the application with respect to the requirement by providing the necessary details and information.
7. Complete the application as per convenience, attest it with signature and attach the required documents with the application form.
8. Then, submit the application package to the relevant authority at the respective Service office.
9. The application process is free and the applicant need not pay anything to apply for the Monthly Financial Aid.
10. Upon receipt of the application and all the required information, the Department will proceed to review and assess the submitted information.
11. On completion of the review, the Service office will call the applicant to inform the decision made.
12. The processing time is between five to fifteen days. This time may vary depending on the availability and correctness of the information provided.

Required Documents

• Completed application form
• Copy of the Qatari Identity Cards for the student, guardian, and student's jobless family members (including birth certificate of any newborn child, marriage certificates of any other wives of the guardian,
• Letter from an educational institution to prove that a brother aged 24 or above is enrolled as a full-time undergraduate student to be considered a family member and any other documentation required to explain the structure of the family).
• The total-salary certificate of the guardian does not exceed three months from the date of issuance
• In case the guardian working in the private sector, submit a bank statement of the guardian bank account for the last 3 months to prove the guardian salary mentioned in the salary certificate or a copy of the notarized work contract in the event of not being able to prove the regular receipt of the monthly salary during last three months.
• Account certificate letter with the student bank account number from the bank for first time application only.

Eligibility

• Be a citizen or an eligible noncitizen or have a green card, an Arrival/Departure Record, battered immigrant-qualified alien status or a T visa or a parent with a T-1 visa.
  
• Have a valid Social Security number.
  

Fees

• The application process is free and the applicant need not pay anything to apply for the Monthly Financial Aid.

Validity

• The financial aid is valid for 30 days from the issuing date.

Need for the Document

• Financial aid gives students the means to afford and attend college, university, and trade school. Basically, it helps students pay for the rising costs of higher education — tuition, room and board, books and supplies, and transportation.
• The thought of repaying all the money limits their education. It also creates immense pressure on them for getting placed at good packages. This is the reason why most students can't pursue careers, which don't pay high salaries at entry level, even if they want to.
