Procedure

Apply In-Person:

1. To Apply for a Specific Trade Business or Consultancy Permit in person, the applicant has to approach the Central Bank of Egypt Contact link
2. Visit the Egypt Investment Authority office to obtain the application form for investment.
3. Complete the application form correctly and then write a cover letter addressed to the Managing Director Egypt Investment Authority and indicate the activities of the company.
4. Then the applicant should obtain all the required supporting documents as mentioned in the “Required Documents” section below and attach the document and the cover letter to the completed application form in a single file.
5. The application is free of charge.
6. The applicant should then visit the Egypt Investment Authority office and submit the application to the investor services department for free.
7. The officer in charge of the investor services department will receive and verify the application. Note: The application is free of charge.
8. Upon the verification process, the Egypt Investment Authority will issue the applicant the acknowledgment letter of the application.
9. Then Egypt Investment Authority will notify the applicant of the scheduled date of the visit inspection. Note that the Inspection is carried out to ascertain the existence of the company or project and the duration is taken to visit the premises is dependent on the availability of the applicant.
10. Once Egypt Investment Authority has completed the inspection of the proposed applicant’s project and ascertained its authenticity, Egypt Investment Authority will prepare the Investor’s license and issue it to the applicant.
11. The application is processed within 7 days.

• Proof of investment.
• Documentary proof of capital to be invested.
• Registration certificate of the company OR certificate of incorporation.
• Copies of personal and company PIN (Personal Identification Number) if business is running.
• For renewals; audited accounts for previous 2 years and a certificate of tax compliance

Eligibility

• Investors in Egypt who have invested 100,000 EGP for foreign investors and at least EGP 1,000,000 for local investors are eligible to apply.

Fees

• The application is free of charge.

Validity

• The certificate is valid for a maximum period of one year.
