Procedure

Apply In-Person:

1. To apply for a medical visa the first step is to visit the Egyptian Embassy in your country of origin and fill the application form for a medical visa.
2. After submitting a completed visa application form, you will need to attend a visa interview. During the interview, you will be asked questions about your Medical trip to the Egypt.
3. Before you apply you must ensure that you have documentary evidence to prove the urgency of your trip to Egypt. Purpose of travel must be to obtain urgent medical care, or to accompany an immediate family member or employer for urgent medical care.
4. But you must undergo the medical examination at least ten days prior to your scheduled appointment at the Consulate. Failure to do so may result in processing delays.
5. If you are travelling with others, then everyone in the party will need to schedule a separate interview. Attach the following documents on your application form.

   • A letter from your doctor describing the medical condition and why you are seeking medical care in Egypt.
   • A letter from the physician or hospital in Egypt indicating that they are prepared to treat the case and providing the approximate cost of the treatment.
   • Evidence of how you will pay for the cost of the treatment.

6. Pay the visa application fee. Refer to the “Fees” section of this procedure to learn more.
7. Applicants who do not travel within the clearance period will need to restart the screening process again.
8. Receive your Medical visa.Upon fulfilling all the above requirements you will receive a Medical visa that is if the Egyptian Embassy approves your request then you will receive a call or an email alerting you to pick your visa from the embassy. Should the Egyptian Embassy deny your request for medical Visa, you will be notified by a written letter and the reason for denial.

Apply Online:

1. To apply online for a business visa in Egypt navigate to the link:Link
2. Create an account on the Egypt e-Visa Portal via the registration page, fill in the details and click on the “Sign-Up” button.
3. Open your email and verify the email address by clicking on “verify e-mail address” button.
4. Confirm your account registration and login to the Egypt Visa portal.
5. Click on “Apply Now” button. Type “email”, “password” and perform captcha verification. Click on “sign in” button.
6. Read the instructions and click on “create new application”.
7. Fill in the travel details and click on “next” button. Fill in the applicant’s details and attach the required documents. Click on “next” button. Fill in the host information and submit the details.
8. Once the application form is filled complete the payment using a MasterCard, Visa card, or other debit cards.
9. Wait for the approval via email and download it. Print the business e-visa from your account.
10. Present your printed e-Visa to the immigration officer at the port of entry.

Required Documents

• Visa application form duly filled out and signed by applicant.
• Two recent photographs in colour (passport-size and white background)

• Expiry of the visa and at least 2 blank pages.
• Copy of the passport page containing holder’s data and those mentioning an extension of validity.
• Copies of any previous and current Schengen, USA and UK visas (if any).

• Declaration of the hospital of 30% payment of the total treatment cost.
• Declaration of the period of stay of the treatment (start date to end date) from the Hospital & Acceptance of the patient at the Hospital
• Letter from the local hospital in Egypt stating the ailment
• Financial statement i.e. Salary statement & other bank deposits in Egypt to prove the capability to cover the 70% left of the total treatment cost.
• An undertaking (Formal Declaration) from the local sponsor stating that he would be taking care of all Medical expenses authenticated & legalized with all the necessary documents (if applicable)
• An invitation letter from the hospital in your country where applicant wishes to avail the treatment along with details of illness.
• Proof of accommodation (if applicable).
• A confirmed return air ticket or reservation.

PLEASE NOTE: If you intend to subject yourself just to a medical examination you have to apply for a tourist visa.

• The fee varies for different countries.
  

Validity

• Validity of medical visa is for 1 year or for the duration of the treatment, whichever is less. It can further be extended up to one year on recommendation from an established / recognized hospital.
