Dominican Republic - Obtain a Certificate of Nationality
ProcedureEdit
- Fill in the application form.
- Submit the form along with all other required documents.
- Pay appropriate fee.
Note:
- Consular offices are entitled to refuse to issue certificates to a citizen if consular staff doubt the usefulness of Certification, and if they think this certification will harm the future interests of the Applicant, or that of the Consular Office .
- Some services may only be obtain in specific countries. Look at the Consulate scope for each service.

EligibilityEdit
All citizens of the Dominican Republic may request the consular office of the country for the issuance of the certificate of nationality.
FeesEdit
Application fee: 15.00
The amount payable is in U.S. dollars (USD), in European areas it will be EUROS or in the currency of the country where the Consular Office is.
The amount of application fee varies, depending on the cost of living in the city where the Consular Office is located.

Need for the DocumentEdit
Nationality represents the link between a person and a state or an association of states. It is normally associated with the right to work and live in a country and to participate in political life. Nationality also confers some protection by the state to its nationals, and some obligations on the person towards the state.
A certificate of nationality is a document issued by the government of the Dominican Republic stating that a person is a citizen of the country. The certificates are issued in accordance to the rules on how an individual obtains Dominican Republic citizenship i.e by Birth, Origin, Decree, Marriage or Naturalization.
