ProcedureEdit
- Obtain an application form at the consular headquarters. You may also download the form or fill it up online.
- Submit the form along with all other required documents.
- Pay appropriate fee.

- The Ministry of Foreign Affairs reserves the right to approve or refuse visa application.

Required DocumentsEdit
Family reunification through marriage / direct dependence:
- Visa application letter signed by the beneficiary addressed to the consular office, containing the name, nationality, place of residence and what type of productive activity he/she is in, as well as information about the applicant being a spouse or a child of a Dominican Citizen or a legal resident alien or Dominican RD. The letter is not legalized.
- Visa Form: duly completed, information printed or written legibly. Forms are available at the consular headquarters or may be downloaded or filled in online.
- One (1) picture, sized 4 x 5 inches, front and with white background, placed on the visa form (point 2).
- Original passport with a minimum validity of 18 months.
- Legible photocopy of national identity of the country of nationality and legible photocopy of the residence card , if you live in a second country.
- Medical Certificate presenting a diagnosis of general health status of the applicant and indicating if it suffers from some kind of contagious disease. Must be issued by the relevant health authorities of the last country in which the person was domiciled.
- Certificate of No Criminal Record (Not required for minors) issued by the competent authority of the country in which you have resided in the last five years, duly legalized or apostilled , as appropriate.
- Birth Certificate. should be duly legalized or apostilled, as appropriate. If it is written in a language other than Spanish, must be translated by a court interpreter, legalized by the Consulate of the Dominican Republic or apostille, as appropriate . should be deposited the original and the translation.
- Marriage Act:
- If one party is a citizen of Dominica and the marriage was celebrated abroad: Marriage certificate transcribed before the Civil Registry of the Central Electoral Board (JCE). Law No. 659-44 on acts of civil status, Art. 58 paragraph 14. To transcribe the minutes, it is necessary : (If the document is in a language other than Spanish, it must be translated by an official translator and legalized by the Consulate of the Dominican Republic or apostille, as appropriate) the original record and translation.
- If both parties are foreigners and the marriage was celebrated abroad: Marriage Certificate. If written in a language other than Spanish, it must be translated by an official translator and legalized by the Consulate of the Dominican Republic. Original should be deposited (the original should be duly legalized or apostilled, as appropriate) and translation.
- Documents showing the financial solvency of the guarantor:
- Charter Bank: updated with details of the account balance
- Job Letter
- Copies of certificates of titles of movable or immovable properties (must submit the originals at the time of deposit)
- Copies of Financial Certificates
- Certification of pension income
- Any other document showing financial solvency
- Letter of Guarantee: Through which takes responsibility for living expenses and repatriation, respect for moral and economic conditions abroad, Signed by two witnesses, who will guarantee to the DGM in the application process for temporary residence in the country, duly notarized and legalized in the Attorney General's Office.
For Investors:
- Visa application letter signed by the beneficiary addressed to the consular office, containing the name, nationality, place of residence and what type of productive activity he/she is in, as well as information on how to settle in the country (as an Investor), this letter is not legalized, nor adds.
- Visa Form: duly completed, information printed or written legibly. Forms are available at the consular headquarters or may be downloaded or filled in online.
- One (1) picture, sized 4 x 5 inches, front and with white background.
- Original passport with a minimum validity of 18 months.
- Legible photocopy of national identity of the country of nationality and legible photocopy of the residence card , if you live in a second country.

- Investor Certificate by the CEI-RD, according to the classification described below: Direct Investors: must submit a copy of the certification of the Center for Export and Investment of the Dominican Republic (CEI-RD). The companies operating under the Free Zone Regime: must submit a copy of certification from the National Council of Free Zones. The Fairground Companies Contracted or Sub-Contracted by the Executive: must submit a copy of the contract or the official gazette where the contract is published with the Dominican state. Border Development Projects: must submit certification of the National Border Development. projects Tourism Development : Can be accredited by both the Center for Export and Investment of the Dominican Republic (CEI-RD), and by the Ministry of Tourism.
Note:
- Job Certification Letter of the receiving company.
- In the case of dependent wife and children, they should be included in the letter of guarantee from the receiving company.
- If the applicant is a dependent economy, one household employee, supervised, direct online ascending or children over 18 years of age of the beneficiary, should be added to the letter of guarantee where the guarantor (beneficiary of the program) attesting to the quality and condition of dependent applicant's economic residence, and specify that it takes care of the expenses and repatriation if necessary.
- In case the applicant is a shareholder of the company , you must present Act governing board of the company in original and one copy to deposit (see the original).
- These documents must be presented in its original form. Income earned from wages do not apply.
For Rentiers:
- Visa application letter signed by the beneficiary addressed to the consular office, containing the name, nationality, place of residence and what type of productive activity he/she is in, as well as information on how to settle in the country projected as Annuitant, this letter is not legalized, nor adds.
- Visa Form: duly completed, information printed or written legibly. Forms are available at the consular headquarters or may be downloaded or filled in online.
- One (1) picture, sized 4 x 5 inches, front and with white background.
- Original passport with a minimum validity of 18 months.
- Legible photocopy of national identity of the country of nationality and legible photocopy of the residence card , if you live in a second country.

- Ties of kinship (family reunification through marriage / direct dependence).
- Investors, Pensioners, Retirees or Annuitants according to the Law 171-07.
- Individuals employed indefinitely in public or private institutions.
- Individuals who have their religious or cult activities established in the country.

A visa is a document stating that a person is authorized to enter or leave the territory for which it was issued, subject to permission granted by the immigration official at the time of actual entry.
