ProcedureEdit

  1. Gather all documents you will need to submit or present to apply for the procedure.
  2. Fill out the [http://socialservices.gov.dm/images/forms/form_g.pdf Marriage Application Form (Form G). The form must be signed by both parties and witnessed/signed by a magistrate/justice of the peace/notary public/commissioner of oaths
  3. Submit the completed form along with all other required documents to the Ministry of Social Services, Community Development and Gender Affairs. The following officers will be available to help you with your application: Assistant Secretary, Minister's Secretary and the Permanent Secretary's Secretary.
  4. After all the documents you have submitted has been reviewed, pay all necessary fees at the Accounts Section of the Ministry.


Notes:

  • For applicants wishing to meet the two day residency requirement (EC$300.00), the license will be processed within three (3) days
  • For those who are opting for no residency ($EC500.00), await preparation and approval of license or return within specified time
  • For weekend and holiday weddings ($EC704.00) applicants will be required to get in touch with the Ministry of Social Services' office by calling (767) 275 3612

Required DocumentsEdit

  • Completed Application Form G (Marriage Application Form), signed by both parties and witnessed/signed by a magistrate/justice of the peace/notary public/commissioner of oaths
  • Valid Passport(s) of the applicants for inspection
  • Original birth certificate of the applicants. Non-nationals must also provide a photocopy of their birth certificate
  • EC$7.50 postage stamps
  • Non-marriage certificate or statutory declaration attesting to the marriage status of the applicants
  • Decree absolute in case of divorce
  • Death certificate if spouse is deceased
  • Deed poll if name has been changed
  • Evidence of consent if one of the applicants is below the age of 18
  • Authenticated translation of any required documents written in a language other than English.


Note: In case the original documents (passport, birth certificate) is unavailable, a notarized copy of the documents will be accepted by the Ministry.
