1.Applicant should start by deciding where to use a visa agent or not. If he she decided to use a visa agent, he / she should ensure that the selected visa agent is registered and authorized to do so in the country as there exists fraud in many countries.

2.When the applicant decides not to use a visa agent, he / she should start the application process by finding the most appropriate visa issuing agency. This is any nearby Djibouti diplomatic representative (embassy / high commission / consulate) in home or neigbouring country. 3.The applicant then visits the identified issuing agency, to find out what is required in order to transit through the country;

4.Obtain an application form from the issuing agency and fill it carefully and accurately;

5.There after prepare all the required documents and attach them on to the filled application form;

6.Make payments (if any) and ensure that a receipt is received;

7.Also attach the payment receipt on to the application form; and

8.Submit application to the issuing agency identified (applicant who use visa agents submit application to the agent which forwards it to the issuing agent);

9.Wait for the visa to be processed;

2.An applicant must be admitted in a recognized education institution in Djibouti;

3.When visa is issued, the holder does not automatic enter into the country, entry is controlled by the immigration department at the entry ports;

4.The immigration authorities at the port of entry may allow or reject entry of a foreigner into the country;

5.Avoid carry prohibited goods / materials / substances while entry into the country;

6.Do not overstay beyond validity of visa;

7.Always enter the country through designated entry ports;

8.An applicant must be ready to follow the rules and regulations of Djibouti immigration department and of the entire country;

A Djibouti transit visa is also known as visa de transit, it is a short stay visa issued to a foreigner who wished to pass through the country to a third destination. Like any other visa, the Djibouti transit visa is issued by government of the country through the immigration department and diplomatic representatives in foreign countries.
