Procedure

How to Apply
In-Person

1. You should visit the Électricité de Djibouti (EDD) branch office near you approach the service desk and express your interest.
2. Fill out the application form, attach the supporting documents (listed below) and submit to the attending officer for verification and processing.
3. After your application is approved, EDD will have some of its personnel visit your residence to verify the compliance of standards within 3 to 7 days. The officers will also estimate the amount you will be required to pay for the connection.
4. Depending on the quoted costs, you will be required to proceed with payments at the EDD office, where you will be issued with a receipt.
5. Upon payment of the required cost, External works, meter installation, and other essential processes will be done to make sure you can access electricity in 5 working days.
   
   

Online Application

1. You should visit the Link or download the EDD app to make the application.
2. Click on the “connection request online request form’ on the right hand side of the page.
3. You will be redirected to the next page, Fill in the all the required field accurately then click on Following.
4. You will then be redirected to the 2nd page, fill in the required field accurately then click on Next.
5. You will then redirected to the 3nd page, fill in the required field accurately and verify that all the information are in order if satisfied then click on Competed.
6. Your application will be sent to EDD for action. You will receive a notification of your application via email address and details about EDD site visit.
7. EDD will have some of its personnel visit your residence to verify the compliance of standards within 3 to 7 days. The officers will also estimate the amount you will be required to pay for the connection.
8. You will be required to visit the EDD office near you with the supporting documents and the quoted cost and make payment, where you will be issued with a receipt.
9. Upon payment of the required cost, External works, meter installation, and other essential processes will be done to make sure you can access electricity in 5 working days.
   
   

Note : The client/applicant has 6 months to pay the quotation otherwise it expires and must reapply for a new connection again.
