ProcedureEdit

1.When asylum seekers arrive in the country, they are expected to report their presence to the refugee authorities in the country;

2.When they report presence to the authorities, the asylum seekers are registered and issued with letters attesting that they have been registered as asylum seekers and at registration process, the asylum seekers are allowed to stay in the transit centre as registration proceed;

3.The registered asylum seekers are then examined and interviewed individually by the government eligibility commission (Commission Nationale dligibilit des Refugis (CNE))

4.This is done to decide whether or not they qualify as refugees;

5.After examination by the eligibility commission, the not qualified applicants must leave the transit area and go back to home country while the approved are assigned to a camp to stay.

2.Cause of persecution should not be after committing crime against humanity;

3.Applicants should not be engaged in any war against any other country;

4.Must be ready to comply with rules and regulations of the foreign country;

5.While in the country an applicant should not engage in activities harmful to national interest;

6.Always submit as many identification documents as possible;

7.Do not give false information;

8.Carry identification documents while moving in the country;

9.Report to authorities immediately upon arrival in the country;

Need for the DocumentEdit

Asylum is a form of protection extended to a foreigner running away from home country due existence of insecurity or due to fear of persecution. In cases where a foreigner applies for asylum, he / she is seeking refugee status in a foreign country. The Ministry of the Interior (MOI) in Djibouti is the main Government institution in charge of refugee protection and the Office National dAssistance aux Rfugis et Sinistrs (ONARS) is the national refugee agency. Issues of refugees are handled by the government together with partnering world organizations with the national eligibility commission deciding status of asylum seekers.
