Denmark - Obtain an Alcohol License

To apply for the liquor license, fill up the appropriate application form. Information on how to properly complete the form are printed on the application.
Submit the form to the local police where the business will take place in order to qualify for a liquor license.

Note:

There are different application forms used to obtain the liquor license, depending on who operates the business, whether it's by an individual / partnership or by a corporation / association.
If the application for an alcohol licenses is for catering or food service business whose operation depends on the type or size of the event which varies significantly (for example, from the dining catering to the disco), there will be a requirement that applicant needs to submit a detailed project that describes in detail both the interior design and operating conditions .
If the applicant can not be responsible for the daily operation, or if the applicant is a company / association, the request for the license must be approved by the manager.
If you want permission to keep the business open during the regular hours, this should be stated in the application.

For individuals / partnerships:

Alcohol license are only granted to individuals who are permited to operate a place or business, that involves serving alcohol to its customers.
Applicants must generally be at least 25 years old to apply. If the applicant has completed a degree in hotel and restaurant profession, the applicant must be at least 23 years. The applicant must also not be a minor or under guardianship.
In addition, the applicant must not:
- have declared under the state of bankruptcy,
- be indebted to the public at 50,000 or more
- being convicted of a charge that constitutes an imminent risk of abuse against the industry, see Penal Code 78 paragraph. 2

For corporations, associations, etc.:

Alcohol license can only be issued to companies that possess trade licenses in the place of business where they will be serving alcohol.
The Company shall have no outstanding debts to the public in the amount of 50,000 or more.
The members and majority of the establishment's directors must be at least 25 years old. If a degree in hotel and catering course is completed, the applicant must be at least 23 years.
In addition, the members and the majority of directors not:
- be disabled or incapacitated,
- be indebted to the public in the amount of 50,000 or more, or
- being convicted of a charge that constitutes an imminent risk of abuse against the industry, see Penal Code 78 paragraph. 2
