Procedure

Apply In-Person:

1. In order to apply for free sewing machines, the applicant shall approach their concerned social welfare department office / district collector office / block development office (BDO). Prospective applicant shall look for the annual announcement from the concerned department for accepting application for this scheme.

3. Go to the respective office. Consult with the designated authority about the applying procedure and the local department office for this scheme. Collect the application form or write on a plain A4 sheet as advised. The applicant shall take the help of the respective self-help groups meant for their area.
4. Application form can be downloaded using the following link1 AND link2 please use the “Application form for the free supply of Sewing Machines” option for the respective application form (this form is widely used in all the states).
5. Complete the application form. Attach the required documents as per our “Required Documents” section of this page and submit it to the designated receiving authority as advised.
6. After receiving the application, authorities will check the submitted application and document set. If all are in place, the application will be accepted.
7. Authorities will make entries about this application in the manual record or electronically using the computer.
8. Acknowledgement receipt will be given against every form received. Please keep it safe for future reference.
9. Applicant will be informed of the probable date of getting approval for this scheme.
10. This application will be processed further. Concerned authorities will verify the applicant’s details and documents.
11. ”SMS” triggered update on application status will be sent to the applicant’s mobile.
12. Once verified, this application will be forwarded to the concerned Village Administrative Officer – VAO / designated authority for ground level scrutiny. These authorities will do the due diligence and a verification report will be sent back to the issuing authority.
13. Based on the outcome of the above report and other internal processing, the designated issuing/sanctioning authority as per the administration zone will take a decision.
14. The status, viz. Approval or Rejection if any will be conveyed to the applicant through an SMS.
15. If approved, the department will inform the beneficiary to appear before the department along with the originals of the said documents.
16. On the scheduled date, the beneficiary shall go to the office with the details as informed and follow the department guidelines to complete the formalities to get the approval.
17. Usually such benefit schemes will be awarded in a government stage directly to the beneficiary.
18. As per authorities notification, the sewing machine will be hand delivered or issued as per applicable norms.

Note:

• Applicant has to bring original documents to the applying office while applying for cross verification purpose and scanning if required.
  
• Without cross signature on photograph and signature on the undertaking, the application will be rejected.
  

Apply through Centres:

1. To apply for Free Supply of Sewing Machines in Daman & Diu, the applicant shall visit the nearest CSC/Tehsil Centre. Find contacts to CSC centres in the link provided:Link
2. Procure the mandatory application form from the concerned centre and fill it up with the necessary details required for the license.
3. Make sure to attach all the "Required Documents" along with the application form before submission.
4. Provide authorized signatory and photograph, wherever applicable.
5. Make the requisite payment required for the process (if applicable).
6. Now, submit the application to the office of the concerned centre and obtain the acknowledgement slip.
7. After successful verification, the Free Supply of Sewing Machines will be issued by the concerned authority.
8. Obtain the Sewing Machine from the concerned CSC centre by showing the acknowledgement slip.

Eligibility

• Applicant should be citizen of India.
  
• Applicant must be a permanent Resident of the respective State.
  
• Applicant with valid tailoring certificate (a 6month course) from a registered institute shall apply.
  
• The annual income of the women applicant’s husband should not exceed Rs. 12000 or the amount fixed by respective state government.
  
• The age of the applicant applying for this scheme should be 20 to 40 years.
  
• The applicant should not be an income taxpayer.
  

Fees

• These scheme doesn’t attract any fees, but please pay the charges as authority’s quote if any while applying against the requirement.

Validity

• The sanction of the free sewing machine is valid till the physical delivery of the sewing machine.
