Apply Online:

  1. To Apply for Central Government Aided School License, the applicant has to make the application online via the following link
  2. The applicant has to Scroll down and click “ONLINE APPLICATION FOR AFFILIATION”
  3. Next the applicant has to click “Apply Now” and select the type of Affiliation.
    Note: The Apply Now menu will only display on the prescribed dates and session.
  4. After selecting the type of affiliation, a registration page will be open where the applicant has to fill in school details and details of staff and create user ID and password.
  5. Next the applicant has to login with the user id and password.
  6. Then the applicant has to fill in all the necessary details in the application form. (Incomplete applications are not accepted)
  7. Make sure that the applicant has attached all the necessary documents that are mentioned in the “Required Documents” section of this page.
  8. The applicant has to pay the prescribed fee as requested by the authority. The fee details are mentioned in “Fees” section of this page.
  9. After receiving the application, the concerned authority will check the submitted application and document set. If all are in place, the application will be accepted.
  10. All applications are processed within a reasonable time, having regard to the particular circumstances of each application, including the completeness of information and documents submitted to the authority by the applicant.
  11. The authority may seek additional information from an applicant if this is necessary to assess the application. The authority does not need to deal further with an application until the applicant has provided this additional information.
  12. The authority will conduct an onsite inspection to the school.
  13. Once everything is accepted the authority will issue the license
  14. The entire process can be completed within 30 - 60 days or as per the timeline advised by the respective department authority.

  • Trust Deed or Memorandum of Association of the school society
  • No Objection Certificate (NOC) issued by the State Government
  • Building Safety Certificate issued by the State Government
  • Land Ownership Document or Lease Deed
  • Certificate of Recognition from the State Education Department
  • Society/Trust Registration Certificate
  • Affidavit from the school management declaring that the school will follow all the CBSE affiliation norms
  • Fire Safety Certificate issued by the State Government
  • Health and Sanitation Certificate issued by the State Government
  • Staff Appointment letters and Qualification Certificates
  • Infrastructure details and photographs of the school building and facilities
  • Financial statements of the school for the past three years
  • Affidavit of non-proprietary character of the school
  • Affidavit by the School Management that the school will not be renamed without prior CBSE approval
  • Photographs of the School Management Committee Members.

Following types of Schools are eligible for affiliation with Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE):

  • Government or Government aided schools
  • Schools run by autonomous organisations under the Government like Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan (KVS), Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti (NVS), Central Tibetan Schools Organization (CTSO), Sainik Schools Society etc.
  • Schools run by Government Department directly like Defence, Railways etc.
  • Schools managed directly by Public Sector Undertakings or by reputed societies of Public Sector Undertakings under the financial control of such Public Sector Undertakings or by Societies formed by such Undertakings
  • Private, unaided schools
