Apply Online:
- To Apply for Cable TV Operator License, the applicant has to make the application online via the following link
- If the applicant is a existing user, the applicant has to click “Sign In” and enter username and password and enter captcha code and login.
- If the applicant is a new user click “Sign up” and create an account.
- After logging in, the applicant has to click “New Application for MSO”. Then the applicant has to enter the Company details, Business details, Authorized Signatory.
- Then the applicant has to attach all the necessary documents that are mentioned in the “Required Documents” section of this page.
- The applicant has to pay the prescribed fee as requested by the authority.
- After upload process , the applicant will speed post, some instructed document as referred by Ministry for MSO and scanned copy will be upload in “Dispatch Speed Post” tab then click on the Submit.
- Once application is submitted, applicant can check status by clicking on “View/Update MSO Application”.
- The status of application changes to ‘Approved.’ Then Applicant will be able to download the Permission letter from “View/Update MSO Application” Grid.
- This entire process can be completed within 15 - 30 days or as per the timeline advised by the respective department authority.
Apply In-Person:
- To Apply for Cable TV Operator License, the applicant has to approach the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India link
- An application form will be provided to the applicant by the concerned officer.
- The applicant has to fill in all the necessary details in the application form. (Incomplete applications are not accepted)
- Make sure that the applicant has attached all the necessary documents that are mentioned in the “Required Documents” section of this page.
- The applicant has to attach photocopies of the required documents along with the application form while submitting it.
- Submit all the documents with the completed form to the concerned officer.
- The applicant has to pay the prescribed fee as requested by the authority.
- After receiving the application, the concerned authority will check the submitted application and document set. If all are in place, the application will be accepted.
- All applications are processed within a reasonable time, having regard to the particular circumstances of each application, including the completeness of information and documents submitted to the authority by the applicant.
- The authority may seek additional information from an applicant if this is necessary to assess the application. The authority does not need to deal further with an application until the applicant has provided this additional information.
- Once all in place, the authority will the License.
- This entire process can be completed within 15 - 30 days or as per the timeline advised by the respective department authority.

- GST registration certificate
- Proof of sound financial background: Bank statement, income tax return, or other financial documents.
- Character certificate
- Criminal record certificate
- ID proof of the partners, promoters or directors of cable operator
- Cancelled cheque
- DSC – Digital Signature Certificate
- Letter of authorization for authorized signatory
- Area details in which the applicant wants to provide his/her services
- Hardware equipment list
- List of channels the applicant seeks to provide via digital addressable systems.
