PROCESS FOR CITIZENS & NON CITIZENS OF CZECH REPUBLIC – FOR BOTH WHO LIVE IN CZECH REPUBLIC AND OVERSEAS:

I. Apply in Czech Republic
a. Apply in person
  1. Applicant shall apply at the municipal authority office or directly at the criminal register office in Prague.

  4. Go to the respective office. Don’t forget to take the required copy of documents along with originals to the office.
  5. Please follow as per authorities guidelines. As per authorities advice one has to submit the completed application along with documents. Applicant should pay for any charges if required as advised.
  6. This application will be processed by respective department.
  7. The certificate can be collected from the office where applicant applied in person upon notification or issued as per norms.

Note:

Applicant shall designate someone to apply on his/her behalf with a certified power of attorney.
They must have
  • Their identity verified.
  • ID card or passport.
  • Notarized power of attorney.


b. Online in Czech (email - recognized electronic signature holder)
  1. Those who are recognized electronic signature holder can apply directly online to the electronic mailroom of the Criminal Register (this service is only offered in the Czech).
  2. Applicant shall apply to the following mail ID.

    2. Applicant shall call + 420 244 006 111 for clarification of doubts or for information.
  3. This application will be processed and certificate will be delivered as digital data.


II. Applying process – overseas
a. Apply at Czech Republic embassy or consulate in person
  1. Applicant can apply at their nearest embassy or consulate in person. Link to locate the embassy or consulate: czech Missions abroad
  2. Call the office and fix appointment for personal visit. Also find out the details for this procedure.
  3. On the scheduled date, go to the office with all the document in original and in copy. Please follow as per officer guidelines to process your application.
  4. This application will be processed by the respective department. The completed certificates are forwarded to the concern.
  5. Applicant shall collect the certificate with the respective office upon notification or can get it delivered as per norms applicable.

  • A copy of your passport while living in Czech Republic.

EligibilityEdit

  • Applicant with valid passport and a valid address proof.
  • Age: 16 years and above. In case of minors, the application must be submitted by the parent exercising parental authority, if the minor has not turned 16 years.
  • The current address of the applicant must be same as in the passport and other supporting documents.
  • Applicants who are in need of residential status, employment or long term visa or for immigration to a foreign nation.

  • Fees 100 CZK.
  • Charges for stamps and other requirement varies for case to case. Updated charges requirement will be provided by respective authorities while applying.

InstructionsEdit

  • You need to provide a police certificate when applying for permanent residence.

If you live in the Czech Republic :

  • You should apply for a vpis z evidence rejst?rku trest? (extract from the penal register).
  • You will need to submit:
    • an official application form;
    • two recognized picture identification cards such as a national identification card, a passport or a driver's licence; and
    • the applicable fees
  • Foreign residents must present their permanent residence status document in addition to their picture identification.

If you live outside the Czech Republic

  • You should apply at the nearest Czech embassy or consulate with the required documentation.

Need for the DocumentEdit

A police certificate is an official document issued by police or government agency of a country to enumerate any criminal records that the applicant may or may not have. Criminal records may include arrest, conviction, and possibly criminal proceedings.

  • a local authority, a municipal authority, a city authority, a district authority
  • the local authority in Prague, or in territorially segmented statutory cities by the city office or the city section office which keeps the register
  • at the Penal Register in Prague 4, Soudn 1 (Praskho povstn metro station on the C line)
  • at the branch office of the Penal Register in Brno, Husova 15 (building of Regional Court Brno)

Residents provide: an application form, and Czech ID or birth certificate.

Non-residents: Apply in person to the nearest Czech embassy, or you can give authority to another person to act on your behalf.

Non-residents provide: passport or original birth certificate together with a Czech translation.

Other uses of the Document/CertificateEdit

A police clearance certificate is a copy of your criminal record or a declaration of the absence of any criminal record. Police clearance certificates are different in each country and territory and may be called police certificates, good conduct certificates, judicial record extracts, pcc, etc. They are issued by police authorities or government departments and used by Citizenship and Immigration to prevent individuals who possess a risk to Country's security from entering the country.

Power of Attorney

The submission and receipt of the statement of criminal records, the applicant granting notarized power of attorney (thus provided an authenticated signature of the applicant) authorize another person ( 11 para. 1 of Law no. 269/1994 Coll. criminal records , as amended).

The power of attorney must be construed in accordance with the provisions of Act no. 89/2012 Coll., the Civil Code.
