Czech Republic - Apply for Temporary Residence Permit (EU Citizen)
ProcedureEdit
- Go to MOI office nearest you. It is advisable to go to the office nearest you for convenience and accessibility.
- Fill out the prescribed form for application of temporary residence permit. The form can be downloaded here.
- Submit necessary documents with the completed form.
Note:
If approved, the MOI office will contact the applicant either by telephone or mail for pick up of the certificate.
Required DocumentsEdit
- a travel document (i.e. an identity card for an EU citizen)
- a document confirming the purpose of the stay if it concerns employment, business or another gainful activity or studies,
- 1 photograph
- proof of travel medical insurance, (not required if the purpose of the stay is employment, business or other gainful employment)
- proof of accommodation
- a document confirming that he/she is a family member of an EU citizen, or an adult dependent (for a family member)

InstructionsEdit
- A certificate of temporary residence is issued at the request of an EU citizen who intends to stay in the Czech Republic for more than 3 months and has not threatened state security or seriously disrupted public order.
- The application for issuing a certificate of temporary residence is filed on the appropriate form.
- The requirements for the application shall not be older than 180 days except for the travel document, birth certificate, marriage certificate and the photograph of the foreign national if it corresponds to his/her actual appearance.
- The documents should always be original or notarized copied.
- All of the documents submitted must be made out in the Czech language or officially translated into Czech.
- In Prague MOI offices, application for a certificate of temporary residence certificate for an EU citizen can be submitted by postal service.
